DvO's Better Armor

Post » Fri Feb 26, 2010 8:19 pm

Finished the bracer mesh! Just some in-game playing around here:

Those bracers look wonderful! :goodjob: Very creative meshes, they look like the fit in great. I never liked to wear dwemer bracers before, because the vanilla meshes made them look like ugly bricks on my arms. But your meshes are very steampunk-tastically cool. B)

EDIT: @Karpik: and Hel Borne's http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17094, and the beautiful http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15063. There are also some more http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/search.php. Ghogiel's Dreugh isn't very good, though, in my opinion.

Whoa, the Daedric and Chitin mods are excellent! I'll have to get those when Hell freezes over and I reinstall Oblivion. :P

I'm glad my bracers don't look like bricks, Alaisiagae. :D

Status update: the pauldrons and boots are underway.

Those meshes are really lookin' good, I'm also wondering if you plan the recreated armor to be BB compatible. In my opinion, the most needed mod that MW would need right now is a BB compatible armor replacer that keeps close to the original concept and designs. (Of course I'd like to help with something like that, but it's beyond my abilities in so many aspects.)

I've been doing pre-production on a traditionally animated short (which is taking the place of that other game project at the top of my list), so no progress on this yet. Starting today, though, I'll also have one less class to worry about, so I'll probably resume work on this soon (maybe this weekend). ;)

So I've managed to somewhat figure out Blender to the point of being able to make static models, but I still don't know how to make stuff for characters to wear... where can I learn this?

Figured I'd ask here because DvO might know the answer. :)

Hi guys, just checking back. Working on lots of stuff, as always, but I didn't horrifically lose all my data or anything.

Plangkye: if you mean making stuff that bends along with the character model, I don't know. I mean, it's easy to rig a model in Blender, but I'm not sure how simple it is to make a rigged Morrowind item.

Others: All of the armors should eventually be redone, but I don't know how quickly it'll go. I'm currently trying to get ahead of all my schoolwork (I got another crazy history teacher this year... so many papers to write....) so I can start going crazy on stuff like this again, especially with summer approaching.

As for Better Bodies compatibility, even vanilla stuff is BB compatible, so if you mean making the stuff *in the fashion of* BB, with non-intersecting meshes and without diaper crotches... yes, I'll do my best. :P

Shall be back soon with some progress, hopefully. (runs off to do homework)

I usher in my return to work with a http://uploader.polorix.net//files/874/Blenddowind/dwemer_axe_update.jpg. :P

IF IT IS APPROVED, this project will be my high school graduation project, hence I'm trying to get moving again. IF the school faculty are cool enough to understand and approve my project proposal, you will see, if nothing else, a LOT of models throughout the summer. :D

This project looks great, you're very skilled at modeling.
And rigging a model for morrowind is like rigging it for anything else, just make sure you watch out how you name the meshes and it's fine.
