Dwarf add-on

Post » Sun Mar 03, 2013 10:59 pm

Thanks to simon (aka: honeydew) from the yogscast, I think that there should be a serious thought on bringing the dwemer back in an add on. I believe this would be a great addition to the game.

Dwemer-centric add-on? Sure!

Revealing a very small group (10 or so) of living Dwemer who somehow survived the mass-disappearance (cryogenically frozen, sealed in some vault, ect), only to have them as villains of the expansion, subsequently having most of them killed off in the expansion? Sure!

Bringing back the entire Dwemer race as a whole? Absolutely not

...or an expansion about a big stompy robot returning would be cool too. ^_^

While I wouldn't like to see the Dwemer return, I wouldn't mind an add-on that explored their culture further. Maybe add more incentive to exploring their otherwise drab ruins.

Don't get me wrong; I like the Dwemer ruins in Skyrim. I just think valuable/interesting loot/information found inside them is too far and few between.

I think if he Dwemer where to be brought back it deserves an entire game of its own.

Didn't said Big Stompy Robot explode at the end of Daggerfall?

Maybe a quest to put Humpty-Dumpty Walk-Brass back together again?

The dwemer are not your standard diggy-diggy fantasy trope dwarves. They use highly advanced magi-tech to build automations, steam machines, and advanced magical constructs. They aren't dwarves, they're dwemer.

This is true... Skyrim was my first ES game - and by the time I was done I said "Man, with this kinda tech, if these Dwemer guys ever came back - this whole planet would be F$#&ED!"

Numidium was supposed to come back at some point in the 4th era,But thats from a semi canon TIL post by MK.(Not the dwemer part but the returning bit.)

I'd like more information about the dwemer, but not sure about their return. I think if Beth ever brought them back, it'd be an entire game and not an expansion or DLC.

...I'm not sure what this has to do with anything anybody said in this thread.

Also, I'm 100% sure the ES team didn't first name them "Dwarves" thinking "We'll call them Dwarves, but in reality they're normal elves (cus we just don't have enough elves in Nirn!) but got a nickname from a frost-giant cus' they were small to him".

Obviously they're that way now... but I'm betting on the initial design stages bye the lore-writers that they weren't originally elves.

1: You WILL be dissapointed if they do this. The Dwarves are actually the Dwemer, and were a race of elves.
2: "Hey, doing X would be cool" Is not a good excuse to revert on pre-existing lore.
3: It's been confirmed by Devs that the Dwemer are permanetly gone from TES.
4: Any DLC that centers on the dwemer should be about a mad mage attempting to mess with something they really shouldn't be messing with.
5: The Numidium was svcked into Atherius at the end of Daggerfall. Think it's hard enough to get into an Oblivion plane? Getting into the Atherius plane where Numidium is a hundred times harder. In fact, it's only happened twice in TES. Going to Oblivion has occured at least... 6 times (counting all 90+ Oblivion gates in Oblivion as ONE planar breach.)

More info on them would be ok I guess, but having them return would be lame. Though to be honest, I am getting sick of the dwemer.

This is a DLC thread. And no it's not, at least not to people who have played Morrowind.

Ah, I forgot that. Darn, mvallas had me thinking of various folk within Tamriel would could be used to make a Mantella. Then again, I have no idea if there are any Shezzarines within Skyrim. And then there's all that debate over whether the Dragonborn is one or not.

Looks like no one's going to be a battery any time soon :<

Morrowind is kinda hard for the Sony guys to play...

And atleast its about the Dwemer, probably the most interesting people and culture in TES.
