One of my best dwellers (rare from e lunchbox) got to level 56. It was not a natural leveling. The last time I recalled this dwellers from the wasteland he was level 46, and I put him in the classroom (where as far as I know, they don't gain experience), with a legendary cat for faster learning, ever since. Today when I checked the dweller because I wanted to send him in the wasteland I noticed that his level is 56. I sent him in the wasteland anyway and the game crushed (for the first time, it never happened before). And I was unable to login in this vault after that, the game just freezes when I try to. I deleted Fallout Shelter, then downloaded and installed it again. When I recovered the vault from the cloud, it was working well again, but this dweller is still level 56. Now I know I can just NOT send him to the wasteland or evict him to be even more secure, but this is an obvious bug and it can happen again if I don't know what triggers it.Has anyone encountered this bug/glitch and knows what I can do to fix the level on this dwellers or at least avoid future situations like this with other dwellers?

I have a very similar problem: As far as I remember I have a blue dweller (level 5) from a lunch box, which I trained to have all SPECIAL-stats on 10 using a pet (cat) to shorten the amount of time needed. When the last stat was ready, I took away the cat and dragged her out of the vault to send her exploring. While equipping her with Stimpacks and RadAway I noticed something I took for small glitch: Her level had been raised to 52! A short while later, I think when she was at the vault door, ready to leave, the game stopped and froze. I waited for a while, but no change so I stopped the game using the "Android Task Manager" (the one you get by pressing the square symbol). When I start the game, and choose this vault, the "Please be Patient"-screen shows up but the animation on it stops after a few seconds and the game stays frozen. I created a second, new vault which loads fine.

I tried the following things:

• I deleted the game data in the app-settings and tried to resynchronize them with the cloud


• I restarted the phone


• I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it using the play store, then I tried to use the cloud-save

Same thing happened to me, exactly. Normal level 50 female. Trained with a pet (training enhancement) to have 10 on all SPECIAL attributes, then noticed she's gone to level 54. Initially I thought this was normal thing for the update. I then assigned her a pet to improve her health further. She was stationed at the vault door for 4 or 5 hours (no problems during this time), then I sent her to the wasteland. Soon after the game froze. All suggested fixes throughout the forum have proved not fruitful.

I am not sure if my dweller also went to level 54 but after raising my dweller to 10 on all special attributes and sending her to the wasteland the vault has become inaccassible. It starts to loads but then freezes.

I have same issue. Now i know why my game crashes. Unfortunately i have no backup on cloud, i'm playing offline. From what i see, i lost money and can forget about the game ??

Recently got a Legendary Pet which Offers: -27% Training Time, Which to me was Great less time to Max SPECIAL out and i saw the Dwellers level went over 50 so now i have two Door guards of a Level 69 and a level 53 with Maxed SPEICAL. So i'm wondering if many people as had this problem cause during the time if i attempt to send any of those out it'll crash my game and force me to reinstall and loads a previous save for my Vault, I've reported it to Bethesda so hopefully it'll get fixed cause i wanna send out guys out.

You need to get the save editor and put their levels back to 50. This will fix it.

If you send a dweller with an experience level higher than 50 into the Wasteland, we’re aware that it can cause the game to freeze and prevent this vault to load after restarting the game. We are aware of the issues and working on a fix. Please keep your super experienced dwellers inside your vault for the time being.

Does using a save editor have any influence on things like achievements?

Good to hear you are working on it .

Not negatively, no. It allows you to fix any problems you have and the vault will work fine afterwards. But of course the save editor is not an official Bethesda would support. I use it only to fix glitches like the mole rat bug or this very one, and to backup my vault, but aside from that I stick to completing the objectives and every now and then I buy a pet carrier.

Jaggs, you are awesome! I spent about five hours trying to fix this issue. I almost gave up and was about to see about getting a refund for my purchases. I decided to try once more and saw this thread and your post. I got the editor from the Play Store, moved her back to 50, and my game is working fine again. THANKS!

I have butch as a special character and I have him maxed on all but he is showing as ?level 72 when I try to send him out of the vault to explore the game crashes and I have to re load from a back up save. I thought the max level was 50 is there a problem with butch and why he can't leave the vault.
