What the title says; what is your opinion on Dwemeri religion? What gods did they worship, or were they atheists?

Personally, I'd say they had some sort of gods; mainly because of two things:

A quote from Vivec:

"But our brethren, the Dwemer, scrorned the Daedra, and mocked our foolish rituals, and preferred instead their gods of Reason and Logic"

Of course, one could always argue that "Gods of Reason and Logic" is a metaphorical statement, but when considering the fact that Kagrenac had the title of "High Priest", I'd say it's pretty solid proof that the Dwemer did worship something, be it Aedra or something else.

I always thought "gods of reason and logic" was a metaphor, because I doubt the concept of not believing in gods was something that ever even occured to Vivec.

It was a metaphor the Dwemer did not worship any gods, they worshipped reason and logic. The high priest title likely just refers to the smartest of the smartest which is saying a lot when it comes to Dwemer.

Reason and Logic being that the Reason they don't worship gods is that they're going to be a god. So, Logically, they're not going to worship equals, at best, or their inferiors.

Someone bring the eighty years ago quote in here. "the dwemer were a pious lot..." or however it goes. The dwemer did not worship the Aedra or the Daedra, but I would argue they worshipped themselves.

They weren't atheists, because the acknowledged the existence of the gods, but did not worship them. They weren't secular, though, they sought to make themselves gods. At least, that's what I understand, and I could be very mistaken about this.
