Dwemer ruins return?

That's one of the main things I like about TES: The use of the player's imagination.

This is a large detail I've noticed about the two dwemer pics:
Spoiler
All (Exept for a few) of the meshes have the exact same base-shape as in Morrowind but a few more details, I found this out when I was photo-shopping makareths side together by overwriting everything with dwemer parts from MW... Infact the pic you posted is also a part of the in_dwemer_hall (or something like that) set in MW...

I dunno how to add in a spoiler box but dwemer spoiler alert:

"This uneasy peace, though, came to an end over the Dwemer God Numidium and the construction of the Heart of Lorkhan by Dwemer Tonal Architect Kagrenac, and the result was The War of the First Council in 1E 668-1E 700. The war climixed at Red Mountain, the Dwemer main fortress, and ended abruptly when Kagrenac used the Heart and all Dwemer perished in an instant. "

taken from http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Morrowind

Meh. Who knows? Maybe the heart blew them somewhere into the Plane of Oblivion. Or maybe the explosion was so large that they all went flying, or were transported, to Akavir. Maybe they're building war machines for the Ka Po' Tun. We will never know. PS: A Skyrim expansion about Akavir/The Ka Po' Tun would be epic.

OT: Dwemer ruins were one of my favorite types of dungeons in Morrowind. Glad they're returning. :D

Three things:
1.If it was Dwemer that would be awesome.
2. What about the snow elves/ Huh? Huh? HUH?
3.Looks a bit like Shivering Isles architecture to me I know it isn't but , it does.

The more I think about it, the more I want to see the centurions again but with updated graphics. I reinstalled morrowind once just so I could go to a Dwemer ruin and hang out with my steam powered pals.

Now think about that a master smith can do with them :)
Fondly remember the robot repair perk from a fallout mod and having 8 sentry bots following me.

I'm quite pleased with Dwemer ruins returning - I find the new architectural style really interesting. In particular, I'm really fond of the hanging light we can see in the top right portion of the screenshot. Although I do kind of want to know why exactly they built their strongholds out of metal when they were beneath a volcano and then stone in the middle of a tundra. :P

It could be any of the stealthy guild armours. I'd love to see the return of the Morag Tong along with a battle between them and the Dark Brotherhood (like Cylarne in the Shivering Isles)

I hope so. Oblivion was boring with only caves and Ayleid ruins.

So damn true.

I'd definitely say the image in question is a Dwemer ruin. Admitably, it's not identical to Morrowind's Dwemer ruins, but I didn't expect it to be, and with all those pipes and that steam, I can't see what else it could be.

I'm currently watching a walkthrough of Redguard on YouTube, and I noticed that the Dwemer Ruins there actually look very much like that screenshot from Skyrim. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbPrXUrXehY

If you disregard the vibrant colors, which were part of Redguard's style, it looks very similar.

I hope there are more dungeon styles than Oblivion. I am pretty sure the following have been confirmed.

-Dwemer ruins
-Ice caves
-Nordic ruins

If we also get

-Forts
-Caves
-Mines
-Falmer ruins (would probably be very rare)

then that would be much better than Oblivion.

Also, glad they haven't totally changed the Dwemer style, there are still influences remaining.

Caves (of the non-ice variety) are also as good as confirmed (http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/yy297/b_harrison/skyrim/skyrim_gameplay_staff_magic.jpg), as are... whatever sort of dungeon the giant spider's in (http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/yy297/b_harrison/skyrim/skyrim_gameplay_spider3.jpg).

Definitely excited to have Dwemer ruins back on the scene. Hopefully Daedric ruins will make an appearance as well. I am sure that the old Chimer Daedric worshipers must have built across the boarder into Skyrim at least a bit!

Do you think Labyrinthian will be in Skyrim? It was an important story location in Arena.

Perish:
to die or be destroyed through violence, privation, etc

Actually, the whole mystery centers around the fact that nobody knows what happened. Every account is different. Vivec himself, a god, and IIRC, actually there at the time, didn't know for sure.

Official lore says all of these: they died, they became gods, they transported to oblivion or beyond, they were destroyed by Azura, etc.

There were quests in Morrowind, at least 6 books, conversations with gods, immortal mages, and the last dwemer. The result was that there was no answer, and you had to decide for yourself.

Ahh...Dwemer Ruins. How I have missed thee.

On a side note, pertaining to the discussion of the fate of the Dwemer, I had previously thought they had been cursed with another form for their part in the war, specifically as the dreugh. In Morrowind, the Dwemer ghosts had some facial similarities to that found on the dreughs. Just my speculation at the time. As for Yagrum Bagarn's statement of being "in one of the outer realms", I always thought he meant one of the other continents on Nirn across the sea from Tamriel.

I think it'd be nice to see a friendly group of people that have started a functional city inside one of the old dwemer ruins.

I believe on the Game Informer Skyrim article hub, in the "Sounds of Skyrim" article, they show a Centurion unfolding. The graphics for it look badass and they have a sound they plan on using for them, IIRC.
