He doesn't say that. He talks about a Dwemer city built into the side of a mountain, that "they" moved into. He doesn't even mention who "they" are. Where does he even say that they are everywhere?

He says cities. I put the exact times in the original post.

So no he did not say ruins. But If there are 2 or more Epic Cities built by dwarves, you can safely assume their will be ruins as well.

The fact that he even points this out says there must be a significant amount of this in the game!

If you watch the GI behind the scenes video where they interview Todd, he reveals that a lot of the architecture, ruins, and cities that the Nords of Skyrim occupy...was built by the Dwemer!

And some of you thought there would be nothing of the Dwemer or maybe just one dungeon.

Awesome news and it goes right with the Lore!

Well, if this is true then I am stoked. The Dwemer ruins in Morrowind added that extra element of fun lore that was needed. I liked them better than the Ayleid ruins, but simply because I like the idea of mechanization. Hopefully we will get some cool random loot such as Dwemer coins, and tubes.

I want real Dwemer armor, not stuff that's made up of bits of centurions, although that's cool too. The Oblivion stuff was closer, but not quite.

I would be gald to see a return of the Dwemer they were actually interesting unlike the Alyeids whos ruins were boring and did not offer much but the same repeated things over and over again. I would love to see a return of unique Dwemer loot such as the coin and tubes mentioned above also bring back their cups, cogs and there cylinders and so forth and create some new Dwemer stuff so I can keep it and put it in my house...

The fact Dwemer Ruins > Ayleid Ruins is forever proof that dwarves are better than Elves at everything. They're even better at being elves than elves. :P

And Dwemer ruins run all the way from Vvardenfell to the Alikir Desert

Ok, you're right, he says it in plural, but I did say city, not ruins. Anyways, what I was pointing out is he doesn't say who moved into them, in response to what was originally in your OP before you edited it.

I loved collecting dwemer objects. I haaaaated the boring ayleids with their long, boring ruins. The only collectible were those statues and I needed those for a quest.

Does this mean that the Falmer have been retconned into Dwemer?

I hope they're not EVERYWHERE. Maybe concentrated on the Eastern/Western borders (since the two mains locations of residence for Dwemer were Morrowind and Hammerfell).

From a lore perspective, it wouldn't make sense if Nords, who historically hated the Dwemer (as well as the Chimer/Dunmer, as well as... Hell, let's just move beyond this and say Nords hate Mer in general) sat there as Dwemer built a series of fortresses/cities in their territory.

Unless, of course, we learn a bit of lore about the Dwemer staging an invasion of Skyrim that was quickly repelled, and these are the remains of the invasion. That would require a bit of a leap, but would be believable.

I liked morrowinds dwarven armor more it just looked cooler oblivions just looked like swirls of gold/brass I hated it and as far a dwemer ruins in Skyrim go maybe they were all stripped of useful metals long ago or they are so old they are made more of stone than metal or perhaps without the heat of lava and the frigid temperatures of skyrim stone was an easier choice since they couldn't rely on steam power like they did in morrowind.

All I really want is another Arkthanch sturdumz the one in morrowind with the dwemer puzzle box it was coll because when you cleared out the top level it became a house and the deeper levels were respawning centurions.

I made mine a sort of dwarven mueseum with every unique dwarven item I could find placed inside on shelves from weapons to books. (I roleplay hardcoe I know)

There was a lone Dwemer tower out somewhere on a secluded island I made a great house at. I forgot the name and where it was as its been ages sense I played Morrowind. I used it as kind of a retreat and my Altmer is obcessed with research of the ancient and old civilizations of the world.

you know what I really want brought back from morrowind only updated.....heres my list the first 2 watch the 13th warrior movie epic I think its what they were based off of
Nordic Iron cuirass
Iron broadsword
Solstheims fur armor though wolf needs changed, Nordic mail, All the silver weapons maybe even bring back severed nord leg as easter egg put in troll cave.
The morrowind styles for dwarven, daedric, nordic fur (dont confuse with solstheim)[loved the fur boots], all those armors
perhaps the spear weapons I loved the iron one which looked like a halberd
theres all sorts of other stuff but its been too long....... oooh lanterns that are already lit to place all around those were great
I want duping to return if only to copy things for decorating my homes etc
OH And I want all the different deadric weapons back katanas dai katanas hammers axes wakizashi's etc
Stahlrim would be neat.

how did you even come to this conclusion

like seriously i'm awed by this

i'm pumped as much for the ruins themselves as i am for the potential sound design for them. Morrowind was filled to the brim with stock audio with comparatively little in-house audio work, and considering the quality of the stuff Mark Lampert did for Fallout i'm psyched as hell.

I had assumed the topic about Dwemer ruins being in Skyrim was common knowledge by now
