DX11 issues

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 6:19 pm

I've been testing for hours now with DX11 and the high res textures and I've come to the conclusion that if I want a comfortable experience I cannot run the game on ultra. I'm averaging 30fps with a radeon 6970HD 2GB card and an intel i7 core 870 processor, however that 30fps varies WILDLY in some areas. For instance when you get ammo for your first pistol, the area where you kill your first 2 guards, I ran around there for a good while and anywhere near the water or the bricks near the water would lag me to hell and back. We're talking 10-15 fps.

I have found some glitches though. On the very first level where you're in the submarine, when you help the soldier open the hatch and watch the other marines pass through it, Alcatraz phases through a grate and the bars appear on your screen terminator 2 style.

On the semper fi or die level there are numerous shadow glitches especially on grassy patch areas and the grass itself seems to bug out. I found some grass floating on thin air and some of the the ground beneath it seemed to stretch inward into some kind of crater.

Overall I'm very happy with it and it definately looks amazing now, but I can't help but be picky with these glitches and bugs when I've waited so long for it. Sorry Crytek :\

I don't have the same specs as you, but im running with an i7 2600k with 8 gb ram and two gtx 570's in SLI, and my fps dips wildly. I'll have 80+ fps and it will dip to 20-30 fps randomly.

That svcks man and you're even running SLI. Perhaps SLI isn't working properly still?

Yeah it's great. If you're looking for an upgrade and not wanting to break your pocket, I'd say go with the 870.

I need help. I can't even run Crysis 2 now... I updated the game from v1.8 to v1.9 first, then downloaded and installed the DX11 Ultra Upgrade patch, then the Hi-Rez Textures patch (both from the gamesas links). Now, when I try to start up the game from Origin, I get a Windows error message stating that "Crysis 2 has stopped working"! My system meets the requirements for these patches. So I'm not sure what's wrong. Did I overlook something? Please help. :(

My PC's Specs:
Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium
AMD Athlon II X4 620 2.60 GHz
ATi Radeon HD 5750
8GB DDR2 Dual Channel RAM

Somebody can't put a low resolution screen and make it go on FULL SCREEN?, i mean, if you put a 1366x768 on a 1920x1080monitor, just dont go on full screen, just the low res and a black square around it?...
