DX11 on Launch?

Post » Thu Jun 02, 2011 4:09 pm

I have looked in several different places and I am still not sure if the game is being launched with DX11. If it is not then I am cancelling my pre-order which is annoying as I got it for £17 with an EA voucher.

I am a PC player if I wanted to play with console graphics I would use my bluray player sorry ps3...

Cheers and sorry if this has actually been properly answered but I have found lots of conflicting information.

They're keeping quiet about it. The nVidia gtx590 will be unveiled on the same day as crysis 2 launch day and considering nVidia poured 2 million euros into this game, it is very possible to have some interesting graphics NOT shown before for this sole purpose. Let's just wait and see.

Thanks for the reply. I am afraid that is not what I wanted to hear. It really just adds to the trolls ranting on about console ports. It is a commercial decision to make multi-platform games and we need to live with it.

Sadly for a game that has been known for pushing the boundaries of the pc graphics this is very sad. I am cancelling my pre-order and will not buy the game. I have played and enjoyed both previous games and really enjoyed wars. I have spent A LOT on hardware over the years to play this and other challenging games but I guess this is not one of them

Thanks again

Have speculated that the DX11 patch will come out in a wing back out, but if at least show pictures of how it will be in DX11, I'm sure many people do not just cancel your preorder. Well they will know, they seem to more interested in the public console, if DX11 in Crysis 2 is due to Nvidia.

They don′t want us to know that the game is launching without DX11, because that may hurt sales a little bit...

Crytek please tell us the truth. We demand a explanation!

Is that people do not care to give them a game console port for your PC or not you prefer a good PC version of the wing graphic options up to our PC with DX11.

comments that you think

I have faith Crysis 2 will be DX11 on launch... Although the rumors and no official comments are killing me. I won't cancel my preorder! I fully expect Crysis 2 to out shine Crysis even with it's quality mods (RELI2, extreme particles, 16AF + texture height mapping [forgot the correct name sorry]). I've noticed Crytek has scooped up some of the best modders from crymod.com over the last year or two. <---- THIS IS WHY I AM KEEPING THE FAITH! I know what those modders have done with Crysis, and I can only imagine what they could do with Crytek behind them.

Correct me if im wrong but don't all shops have a return policy on unopened games. I know it doesn't help the digital download people but for anyone buying it on a disc why not just keep your order and then return it unopened if its not got DX11 on release?

I really hope there are some surprises for us PC gamers on launch, I'm quite dissapointed with the console graphics and gameplay so far. There is so much potential for this game and I've been waiting with anticipation for over a year, it would be such a shame and waste if the final game is just a console port. Directx 10 and 11 are a must if crytek still want to be considered developers that push boundries. I will buy this game no matter what but I just really hope I'm not dissapointed after all this waiting..

ulitmately thou i personally feel so let down down by this if to be true, which is why ive cancelled the nano edition, i dont want to give them any extra money

as you so rightly said, they have picked up the best modders which the way i see it would be the perfect reason why the beta got leaked,

these people have made the best mods going, i def know as i and many of you have them installed, i even built a new rig for this game do to how amazin the first was.

i know if i was in there shoes after modding amazing textures and so forth and be scooped in to see the next amazing game that may of brought them into modding to begin with being decimated due to capitalization, greed and the like, i know what i do,

just food for though as they most likey loved crysis 1 so maybe with the over simpleness of crysis 2 for the more casual gamer has peed them off. who knows

In case Crysis 2 won′t be DX11 on launch, is there still the Very High Spec available or is it linked to DX11? As far as I know "hardcoe" spec isn′t the highest spec

Yes

Ha ha whats the difference? "Press x to watch lengthy cut scene". The fact is people want to see progress visually and the only way to deliver that on console right now is to strip back the game play.

Developers have done just that in many cases because it sells games. So many console gamers must love games that look good and play like movies (I know my brother does). And then the console gamers on forums lecture us about PC Gamers valuing graphics over gameplay, but on PC there is no reason we can't have both.

They do not have to be so, says this development Battlelfield 3 in DX10-11, and then carries it to console, ie, it makes the maximum and then trimmed to console and see the maximum in both Platforms
, that is to do things well.

and what is more and the graphics are teaching to the fullest, without prejudicing the console sales, each has the version that I deserve.

But is that Crytek does things backwards, and over did not show anything even DX11

I'd be shocked and hugely disappointed if Crysis 2 doesn't launch with DX11. Crytek have always prided themselves in pushing technological boundaries.
And especially since Cevat has said that consoles are restricting PC development...
http://www.computerandvideogames.com/277729/news/pc-a-generation-ahead-of-ps3-and-360-but-being-held-back-crytek/

Surely they are in the best position to exploit the full performance of a modern PC (with CE3).

I bet that Battlefield 3 will be a really linear shooter. Because they said that they're streaming everything so they can get good visuals on the consoles.

I can't believe that crysis 2 will be shipped directx 9 only. If it is I will be sending my copy back and asking for a refund. I know crytek was pissed at the pc community for the game leak but I think it did more good than harm. This could be a deal breaker for a lot of pc gamers, what is EA going to do realease the directx patch as a dlc and charge for it? Consoles are cheap to buy, pc gamers spend a fortune on their systems and that is why we should always have the best graphics available! Crytek's silence is very worrying, I hope this is just a rumour!
