I think it should be out in the next few months. I have not bought the game yet because I have so many others that are taking up my time right now. But I figure by the time I upgrade my system to handle DX 11 content mainly for Battlefield 3 the patch will be out and that is when I will have finished the current games I am playing and I will snag a copy of Crysis 2 then. By the time bugs will have been ironed out, DX 11 will be enabled, my rig will be able to handle it and the price of the game will be cheaper. Win win situation!

Seriously bro don't encourage Crytek to be lazy. To everyone who bought Crysis 2 at launch, the DX11 is WAY over-due. Either they should have delayed the launch until it was fully implemented or they should have made sure it was there from day one.

Crysis was the benchmarking standard for shedloads of PC gamers since it was released. Crysis 2 had a lot to live up to. It needed to be equal to or better than Crysis 1 in terms of gameplay, story and how much it could push ur system.

Sure it's a great idea for Crytek and EA to release it on all formats. Means more money for them and the fanbase can grow. But the PC gamers who bought and made the Crysis franchise so popular in the first place should not have been lied to. Period.

Crytek and Nvidia had Crysis 2 advertised as a DX11 game and MANY people bought it on launch, fully expecting the game to include it. As you all know, this did not happen. And now you wonder why PC gamers are pissed? Nobody likes being lied to.

Yeah Crysis 2 has some good points but its unfinished and that makes it an overall sloppy game. It can be fixed. We just need this patch and we need it to work.

That's right lmao.. this dude apparently needs to learn it doesn't improve your performance even if you're running the game on TV monitors. You're capping up your framerate in the game. Stop trying to have bragging rights like these console boys.. "hey i got a tv that can play Crysis 2." Whatever.. it's nothing. You have a great deal to learn how fps works especially in graphics.

Go play Crysis 1 for years and then come back here til you're smart. Yea i'm a jerk but who cares

I play on a 61 inch TV hooked to my PC with a 1400 watt home theater system. >:-) Bigger screens and massive sound really take gaming to a new level. Would you rather sit on the couch and game as I do or sit in a computer chair? just zayin....

DX11 for a broken game? would think fixing your product to work would be a priority. Just don't forget your xbox users who don't give a **** about DX11 and would like the game to just work.

Most monitors that run 2560 x 1600 cost more than my entire gaming rig. So I think its safe to say you have more money than sense. I run 1440 x 900 and I love it. Offers the perfect blend of high resolution gaming and relative performance in games.

Crysis 2 runs at a near constant 60 FPS at that resolution for me. GTX 560 TI. And as others have said if the DX 11 patch uses DX11 tessellation Crysis 2 will be unplayable for you, especially at that resolution.

I see, so because I have more money and can afford to buy something you can't (or don't want), I obviously have less sense than you. I would argue that because I have more money, I must have more sense to have made it in the first place. See, I can be a dike too! Yeah.
You probably don't have more money than me, I just can't justify spending that kind of money on something for no or very little gain. A fool and his money are easily parted.


If they use tesselation...then DirectX 11 is not gonna improve your performance lol.

How does that apply to my post?

I specifcally wrote that there could be a performance game by maintaining current settings while running in dx11 mode but the game would benefit from tesselation and physics imo.


People need to read more thorughly before commenting.

And he wrote that if you get that kind of performance at the resolution DX11 effects would destroy what little performance you get. Tessellation effects have a huge impact on the performance of current generation of GPU's. Perhaps you should do some research before trying to flex your e-peen.

Still no DX11 patch? Wow, that is getting embarrassing. I stopped playing the SP campaign to wait for DX11, and now I'm simply loosing interest in the game altogether. I don't play MP as I'm more of a CoD fan, but I didn't buy the game for MP. Seems that by the time the DX11 patch comes out, I'd have long forgotten about Crysis 2. Sad, very sad

I feel the same, I spend more time on this forum than actually playing the game itself.
And seeing the time it takes and the results of the dlc, I highly doubt they spend much time with the money we gave them to deliver a proper working new dx11. Who will still care ?

And I think they spend their time now working on kinect for kingdom. Frankly, this company is going beyond expectations. Who would have thought that ?

Ditto, The game has lost its charm very fast and now i doubt that ill be interested in doing the campaign again even if its DX11. The marketing department boasted of the most advanced AI ever. Does anyone agree with them ? Stupid AI and no fix for it till now or the graphics, yet the creators are busy selling new DLC packs.

The game goes in my DEAD games drawer and i doubt its coming back out again.

I bought the game on Steam, and I have not played the single player campaign, waiting for DX11, and the same with the DLC, I will not buy anything else, until you are out DX11
