DX11 Patch Announced for Crysis 2!

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 9:46 am

My bet is that the DX 11 patch will be released about the same time the editor is released in August. I would love to see some new maps added to multi-player though as 8 feels quite small. I know there is the retaliation pack, but it is already getting hard to find games of a specific mode, and buying a pack that only about 20% of the community does not seem to be worth the price of admittance.

I obviously have no idea about the tech behind 3D, and thats why Im asking the question, but will DX11 improve 3D performance? Nvidia only rate the 3D quality ask 'fair'. I havnt bought then Nvidia 3D glasses yet so, still wondering wether I should or not, given the rating and all.

oh, yeah, it is only fair... for a game bough as nvidia 3dvision ready... it will not be improved... for sure. I don't expect so much about this. when you open Steam menu, you have to close your right eye to see the menu correctly... cause the menu only is shown in left eye image. So fair... set the 3dvision as fair... is crazy

The most stupid bug I have never seen.

Why are all stopped writing?
Because the majority of us have no faith in Crytek anymore.

Oh ****: (if not for the console, would be a good shooter with better graphics, intelligent AI and non-linear storyline.
I still have not played Crysis 2. waiting for a patch DX11. If they will not be released in early June this crappy patch, then I probably do not want to play it. I would have him a long time has passed and would have played in MP, but I updated my PC not to play in the scrap Cryengine 3!

Truly speaking MP in C2 is empty... I have XP rank 5000 after 1 week -.- Crytek doesn't support MP and this is sad ;/ SP last 5-10 hours and You have to pay for Patch. Horrible! Maybe if dx11 will change graphics greatly and they will do many bug fixes it will be very good MP shooter (o.o)

MP is not empty. There are loads of servers but don't seem to be many in Europe. Also, you don't have to pay for a patch.

Filter out empty and full servers. I usually only see about ~50 servers at any given time. Just for reference Halo PC has more active servers than that.

So what? As long as there are servers to play on, who cares? I actually like this game better than CoD lameness, air strikes and helicopters all the time in busy servers

That's good for you, but for new players, or returning players this isn't a good sign. Since most sane people judge how active a game is by how many active servers people are running, well active servers with people in them.

Judging by the sales, I think you're wrong. DX11 and patches will give the game more press and people WILL buy the game for DX11.

Sales are 3 times less that of Crysis 1.
That's not good at all.
Crysis 1 was more profitable as ;
1) Developed for only one system
2.) PC sales are more than a console sale in profit for developer
2.) Sold 3 times as many copies, and is still selling to this day because it's a game that is actually good.

Ok, but i think this DirectX 11 patch, if properly implemented, can change the destiny of the sales.

Well of course because it wasn't as excepted on the PC and the MP demo killed it. If Crysis2 /DX11 came out with the graphical quality of Crysis 1, then it would have sold much better.

On another note. I don't know how people are making assumptions about DX11 performance because Heaven DX11 benchmark only loses about 8fps in DX11/tessellation, and that's very heavy use of tessellation.

Crysis 1 took 2-3 years to reach 2 million sales. Crysis 2? 2 months.

I played both and on my opinion crysis2 is WAY better than the first part. (Except the bugs- and the hacking issue)

Sales? Crysis 1 sold 3 million copies. Crysis 2 has already hit 2 million copies....and only ~25% of that is from PC (including digital sales).

You guys are on crack/ Graphics aren't the issue. Go on Steam. The majority of users have GPUs between 8800GTs and HD 5770 in the power perspective. (Which is actually a small range...a little under 5750 to 5770.)

This game at Extreme settings is just perfect for those cards. If the graphics were better people would bich about it not running. Why do you think Crysis sold 3 million copies but Warhead only 1.5 million? Because 1.5 million of the Crysis owners couldn't run the damn game and had no reason to buy the expansion. And playing Crysis on Low/Medium is simply a pain in the ass. You need it on High or it simply loses it's touch.

This game brings nice graphics to the mainstream PC gamer...but it was too buggy and hacked and unplayable so people stopped playing it.

Now to get people to like this game again Crytek has to appeal to the owners of high end PCs that haven't purchased this game yet so the image isn't fully negative.
