DX11 Patch Announced for Crysis 2!

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 4:16 am

The fact is that DX11 is still not here for Crysis 2... they basically just ship the game unfinished for the PC... actually they havent ship the PC game yet, they just ported the Xbox360 version to the PC (remember the MP Beta? u can practically see the Xbox Controls)

not just the DX11... even the CryEngine3 wasnt shipped along with the game.

It would have been nice if the game was shipped like it was with Crysis (1)

Are we still talking about this? I feel like people are just stating facts! It has been months since the game has been released what you just said is NOTHING new! Have you ever thought crytek is taking their time to make sure the patch is high quality?

Crysis 1 was purely a PC game and it seems to me that the whole EA Crytek business fits as to why the PC version got shipped in this state. Look at things, I find it hard to see why Crytek would ship Crysis 2 in this state and the simple fact is that they're fixing it. I should imagine Crytek are taking it on the chin from the PC community while it's possible it was beyond their control.

Anyway, it's done, we are getting patches and fixes and we are getting DX11 very soon. I waited for patches before I brought the game and Crytek are delivering.

Don't suppose so, i imagine the 590 is still running rampant.
I'm happy with my 580 but have yet to see it being slapped about, hopefully the DX patch will do that.

C'mon DX11 let's see how many machines you can fry!!

It's not going to happen mate. The GTX590 running Crysis 2/DX11 is just a marketing stunt to make you buy one. Wait for Battlefield 3, that will make your GTX580 hurt a bit. :)

I would doubt it. DICE has a pretty good track record for making optimized games. Hell my old 9800GT 512MB ran Bad Company 2 in DX10 on High with over 45 FPS.

That was a nice card in 2010 ^^. All it had suffered from is a lack of support (I mean very very weak driver development) nVidia has better drivers, but I do not wanna say that AMD hardware is bad. It's great. Only software is very very weak

45 fps for FPS game is very LOW. You need at least 60 then it's more comfortable to play. But that's not DICE's fault of optimizations that you play on such card ^^

Wow! They really are bringing their A-Game to this DX11 patch! That looks stunning. I can't wait to see that in high res! While some people may complain they didn't get it out at launch, I'm just glad their doing it right. DX11 has been implemented poorly in so many games, but here... well, it looks Crytek is finally gonna do it justice!

Can't wait!

Why do people always think having 60fps all day is necessary. Sure, I like having 60fps all day too on my 560ti, but it's really not necessary when the human eye can only see at 24fps. Hence, movies are only shot at 24fps -- those don't look laggy now do they? When the game drops below 24, or has large fluctuations, then it could be less "comfortable." but you can play Crysis 2 in 3D in 1080P at 24hz (And therefore 24fps) - and get no lag and no difference in speed, playability, etc....like me on my 50 inch samsung 3D tv. thus 60 fps all day is really not necessary, it's more of bragging rights and knowing that you won't have to worry about FPS dropping...

Needless to say...where the **** is DX11 this is ****...I hardly play the damn game anymore- haven't played single player more than 2 levels...multiplayer is fun...but damn, we all bought this for DX11 beast ass graphics, and upgraded our rigs. Ugh...**** console development bottlenecks.

Cause synchronizing your FPS with HZ of your monitor gives you advantages of good mouse movements and no mouse lag and of course screen is more stable. You LOW-SKILLED players do not realize that. You will see a big difference staying with synchronized FPS and not 45FPS on 60Hz monitor. Ciao!

Could someone tell me why the community seems to think that dx 11 is really going to make this game look any better than it does already?

Im just thinking about the comparison from DX9 to DX10 in crysis wars, it was barely noticeable. Crysis should feature the nicest technology available, just because its crysis i guess, but i don't think DX11 is going to provide any more of any improvement graphically then dx10 did in wars.
