...We are working to get the best out of DX11...

I really hope this means tesselation, among other things :D. Crysis 2 may end up being the first game to really make use of DX11 specific features. Other games may use DX11, but they don't use it to its full potential.

Well, it is true that Call of Pripyat uses Tesselation, but I still don't think it uses DX11 to its full potential.

Tesselation
Better shadows
Better lighting
Wet surfaces

The difference over DX9 mode was huge, DX9 was probably dumbed down for performance purposes since the first two games were almost as bad as Crysis on release.

Have only played about 6 games of the online so far, but I dont usualyl play Crysis for the online, will try some more later though.

Keep up the good work Crytek!

If anybody has played Metro 2033 in DirectX 11 then you know what some of us are expecting. Even though the gameplay of Metro 2033 was flawed, it was an absolutely gorgeous DirectX 11 game. I can't wait to see what CryEngine 3 can really do in DirectX 11.

My only question is will you be using the same useless installer which can't even find crysis 2 or will you TRY to program something decent enough to find the game to apply the DX11 patch?

Thing is that DX11 has some significant graphical advances over DX9 and some minor. Whats funny is that most of the guys that have been crying on here wont even notice it unless someone points it out to them even if they have already finished the campaign. Im 100% sure about it. And whats even funnier is that in every other thread you read how DX11 is more important and now they complain about stupid things; like aimassist in the DX11 thread.

Today's gamers are an embarassment. Also the reason they cant be paying enough attention to actual and serious issues of their IP when it comes to the consumer/gamer is cause of ALL the bunch of crap you complain about constantly. You literally svck the right out of us from complaining for real problems when needed. At least find the right thread and post there. ffs..

PS. Sorry for how my reply to explain you whats about DX11 ppl ask for, ended up into this torwards others XD cheers and thank you Crytek for FINALLY stating a DX11 patch.

Bring back POM effect, please! It was an awesome feature in Crysis 1, but it's completely missing in Crysis 2! The terrain now looks completely FLAT!

Textures which aren't ridiculously low res due to consoles' restrictions would be great too, but DX11 won't help with that, unfortunately.

There is not a problem with that as far as I know it was a choice. DX11 cannot control Cryteks minds no. Is that a failing of the API or should we accept DX11 is not a mind control device?

We would like to announce that there will be a DX11 patch released for Crysis 2. We are working to get the best out of DX11, so we’ll wait to announce the features until a little closer to release.

Dont forget to include 512mb-1gb pak file with HIGH RES TEXTURES, and dont forget about DX10.

And yeah, do something with stupid AI, all that annoying icons that shows "stupid" player where to go and what to do and allow to see enemies trough wall - just remove that **** and make binoculars like in Crysis 1, make AI not deaf, remove stupid infinite or random respawn of enemies, restore some sandbox elements.
Add SUPER REALISTIC ULTRA hardcoe MODE, just like one in Crysis ONE, enable mods and console commands, add punkbuster or something that protects cvars instead of preventing modding of game.
Dont forget to add SAVE ANYWHERE and Quick saves\Quick Loads... and dont forget about 64 bit exe.
Oh yeah, remove this stupid "overbloom", it makes us blind, its unrealistic, its annoying! Return or enable good physics, like falling trees from Crysis, metal deformation, destructible environment you showed us in Crysis 2 previews and other things you forget to include in retail version of game.

And surely dont forget to include Sandbox 3 and pack free official MP maps as excuse for release of semi-finished "call of half-crysis 2".

Dont even dare to sell us DLC like Activision do with Crap of Duty! Nobody will buy crappy maps for 5 10 or 15$ dollars, because they are useless, nobody plays DLC maps!

... and maybe after this we will calm down. Dont shink that 50mb patch with just DX11 shaders will undo damage you did to Crysis franchise, and reputation of Crytek and our nerves and faith in Crytek. You need to do much bigger job turn Crysis 2 into what you promised and at least into what it was 4 years ago! I can even wait 6 month untill you Crytek will actually finish Crysis 2.
P.S. - And yeah, tell Yerli that he need to sell Crytek UK to someone else or close studio, they failing since HAZE for PS3 and ruined Crysis 2 mp.

The difference in quality is absolutely huge, I can't imagine anyone preferring what Crysis 2 has to offer.

Lest I forget - here's hoping we'll get proper Anti-Aliasing which DX11 should provide. The AA solution in C2 applies some kind of vaseline filter, which blurs the entire image - one has to turn it off completely in order to receive sharp visuals, but then is forced to tolerate the jaggies.

After all the crap Crytek has spewed, this announcement means nothing to me. I'm not going to trust it until I'm actually playing the game with DX11. My guess it'll be close to a year before this "official" patch is released.

- Realistic foliage
- Soft-Edge motion Blur

That is all, thank you.
