We would like to announce that there will be a DX11 patch released for Crysis 2. We are working to get the best out of DX11, so we’ll wait to announce the features until a little closer to release.

Whats the point when all have already played the game in DX9 Mode Who wants to play the same game twice lol DX11 should have been implemented to begin with... Glad I did not buy your game. & I'm not going to buy it until DX11 is implemented and all the stupid bugs and especially HACKERS, & CHEATERS That are currently plaguing the multiplayer game as I type are wiped out of the game another reason why I don't buy a game as well...

Quotes from Steam forums...

--> Crysis 2 Died Faster than MOH LOL! WOW! 1638 Servers online, less than 400 people playing at ANY given point in the day. Epic Fail! <--

--> It's not an epic fail... It's MAXIMUM FAIL <--

--> Not to mention, out of those 400, at least 200 are cheating. <--

Regards
T.J

I was happy reading all the positive comments! This is a big step for Crysis 2! The game will look even better. I can't wait! Do you have a list of DX11 features that Crysis 2 will take advantage of, Tom?

@TJ the BritishGamer, you can easily find a server and it will be full of players. The servers are either full or empty, it's either or. You would know this but you're just a member of the peanut gallery. You didn't even buy the game and you're spiteful. That is very pitiful. Your world should be filled with less desire to give others angst. It leads to unhappiness. I mean, what's the point of this post anyway? Do you realize that if they were already aware of the numbers, it makes you look like a rambling idiot trying to garner attention? Do you really think they don't have that data and more? So. Stupid. I guess I shouldn't even expect any different. The people that read good news and reply with **** like this are the lowest of the low. "Oh good news! I'm gonna try to take'm down a peg!" Really?

We would like to announce that there will be a DX11 patch released for Crysis 2. We are working to get the best out of DX11, so we’ll wait to announce the features until a little closer to release.

Dont forget to include 512mb-1gb pak file with HIGH RES TEXTURES, and dont forget about DX10.

And yeah, do something with stupid AI, all that annoying icons that shows "stupid" player where to go and what to do and allow to see enemies trough wall - just remove that **** and make binoculars like in Crysis 1, make AI not deaf, remove stupid infinite or random respawn of enemies, restore some sandbox elements.
Add SUPER REALISTIC ULTRA hardcoe MODE, just like one in Crysis ONE, enable mods and console commands, add punkbuster or something that protects cvars instead of preventing modding of game.
Dont forget to add SAVE ANYWHERE and Quick saves\Quick Loads... and dont forget about 64 bit exe.
Oh yeah, remove this stupid "overbloom", it makes us blind, its unrealistic, its annoying! Return or enable good physics, like falling trees from Crysis, metal deformation, destructible environment you showed us in Crysis 2 previews and other things you forget to include in retail version of game.

And surely dont forget to include Sandbox 3 and pack free official MP maps as excuse for release of semi-finished "call of half-crysis 2".

Dont even dare to sell us DLC like Activision do with Crap of Duty! Nobody will buy crappy maps for 5 10 or 15$ dollars, because they are useless, nobody plays DLC maps!

... and maybe after this we will calm down. Dont shink that 50mb patch with just DX11 shaders will undo damage you did to Crysis franchise, and reputation of Crytek and our nerves and faith in Crytek. You need to do much bigger job turn Crysis 2 into what you promised and at least into what it was 4 years ago! I can even wait 6 month untill you Crytek will actually finish Crysis 2.
P.S. - And yeah, tell Yerli that he need to sell Crytek UK to someone else or close studio, they failing since HAZE for PS3 and ruined Crysis 2 mp.

Dude, just say thank you about the DX11 announcement and be done with it. DX11=New textures. It needs its OWN textures. DX10 is NOT needed. DX10 cards can run DX11, just specific features won't be ran (like tesselation)

Crysis 2 DirectX 11 FTW!

Now I feel much better after buying 2 GTX 560 TI OCs, Although I would have anyways for other games, folding ect..

And guys, just because they are announcing and working on this path doesn't mean that's all they are doing.

I believe some of them are dedicated MP issues, and patch 1.3 is already in the works for MP and Dx11 preparation.

I have an HD 4870 X2... So no DX11 just DX10. :( :( :(
Will the DX11 Patch also support DX10? Or will you only be able to chose between DX9 and 11???

I would say thank you but you are getting paid 2 million dollars from nvidia for Dx11. This doesn't change the fact that CRYTEK chose to release a console port. NVidia is the one to thank not Crytek.

Thank You Nvidia for paying such a large sum of money to convince CRYTEK to take advantage of the latest technology.

iv been a long time fan of Crytek and all of their products but the fact that i have to wait for the final product is simply stupid and i wont be able to "enjoy" the "final product" because i leave for BCT in a week.....wish i could get my money back but oh well i guess, you live and you learn, this was my last purchase from Crytek anyways.

It's about time,well done!!
We all know that graphics is not the most important thing in to a game, but for me this is really a good news!!
the only thing that now I hope is that there will be also some hight definition textures...this game really need them...

Yeah, gameplay is most important, then stability but gfx are a close third thats for sure!

Thank you Crytek! My faith in the game is slowly being restored!

Bring back POM effect, please! It was an awesome feature in Crysis 1, but it's completely missing in Crysis 2! The terrain now looks completely FLAT!

Textures which aren't ridiculously low res due to consoles' restrictions would be great too, but DX11 won't help with that, unfortunately.

There is not a problem with that as far as I know it was a choice. DX11 cannot control Cryteks minds no. Is that a failing of the API or should we accept DX11 is not a mind control device?

Crysis 1:

Crysis 2:

The difference in quality is absolutely huge, I can't imagine anyone preferring what Crysis 2 has to offer.

Sorry. I'm not disputing it what I mean is it was Cryteks choice to use lower res textures. And that at least as far as I'm aware there is nothing in particular preventing them from enabling higher res textures as an option .

Yaaaaay. Sorry I can't be enthusiastic since I can only use DX10. Hows DX10 coming along by the way?
This patch is for DX11 only.

Hi Adam

Thank you for your hard work and efforts in converting the consolised game into a more PC hardware specific game.
May I ask does the DX11 only patch have a fallback for DirectX10 hardware?
So those of us on G200 based graphics cards could enjoy some of the new DirectX11 enhancements which are not dependent on hardware?

By design DirectX11 does have a fall back to 10/10.1 if coded correctly DirectX11 hardware effects would not be enabled however enhancements such as "Command Lists", "Mutli Threading" and FSAA enhancements would be available for us on DirectX10 hardware using the DirectX11 path.

Oh and are you going to address the multiGPU issues?

My GTX 295 does not like Crysis 2 as it stands due to a horrible flickering bug which is not nVidia driver related.
ATi crossfire users also suffer the same problem.

Thanks, Kind Regards and keep up the good work.

John
