Since a DX11 patch is going to be released and since this is directly related to the graphics engine, Crytek should also fix the horrible fake S3D or at least include an option to let the graphics driver do the stereo rendering. Crysis 2 looks really good in flat 3D but get's really ugly in stereo mode. PC gamers are playing in stereo 3D for years, and while Crysis 2's actual "in-engine" stereo rendering may convince console players, it is not good enough for someone who has played Batman Arkham Asylum, Bad Company 2, Mafia II, Just Cause 2, Resident Evil 5, Metro 2033, Dead Space 2, Tomb Rider Underworld, Black Ops, and a few other titles. Compared to these games the stereo 3D in Crysis 2 is completely lame.
I'm concerned about this because there were a lot of advertising from Crytek regarding the game being designed to be a true 3D experience in first place, and I bought the game thinking Crytek was bringing us a game with the same quality found in Crysis I, but I'm extremely disappointed with their approach to S3D.
And I don't expect big changes to the graphics with DX11 as the game already looks great in DX9, unless Crytek also decides to include better textures and lot's of tesselation within this update. What make the game look beautiful like it looks are the scenery, and I don't see too much ways to already improve this.
Like a wise man said, there's no formula to make everybody happy. It's impossible. Critek decided to hit the console market and PC users are paying the price.
