Cryengine3 demos were in DX11, don't see how it's so hard to develop the game with it.....

I think we get our patch not on day one but on month one after premiere. I can wait, I play mostly multiplayer. Graphics is good. No need to complain.

i had been waiting for this with no complains whatsoever and the wait finally paid off. i haven't played the game at all......! Not a professional move from Crytek, nevertheless, it is a move towards betterment and that's what i can appreciate a little bit. hope they learn from this and launch their upcoming titles accordingly - that is to say, with no haste!

CRYTEK - i should remind you again:

We dont need JUST DX11 render path with SM 5, we need DX10 as well (because most of us actually have DX10 cards that can handle almost everything that DX11 offer, except HWA tesselation and some minor things) and at least 1gb pack of high res textures and high poly models (with realistic faces just like in Crysis 1, instead of that unrealistic **** faces we have now ).

We need enhanced render distance, Advanced graphical options, even more advanced than in Crysis 1, preferably with 10 sliders that can allow us to set preferable render distance of various objects (just look at Fallout 3 settings on PC, it have several render distance sliders, we need things like this).

We need unleashed and enhanced physics, to smash, crash and ruin to small derbies every concrete cover and tree, wee need every bush and leaf to be pushable like in Crysis 1, we need cars to expload like in Crysis 1, we need the to be deformable like you promised us in tech previews of Crysis 2.

We need freaking real time reflections of reflective glass-kind surfaces, isntead of fake cubemaps, that looks totally out of place (c'mon - you did fine real time reflections on water in C1, why cant you add same reflections in mirrors, glasses and other reflective surfaces??)

We need proper animation and physics of dead bodies, and we need them to stay until level is finished and even if game reloaded - dissapearing bodies are from past century, same about debries, and we need dead bodies and debries to have collision so we can interact with them.

We also need enhanced AI (not that blind and deaf dumbs we have now) and options to turn off all that stupid "consolization" like tips, waypoints, and stupid backlighting of objects!

And we also need proper save\load system just like one in Crysis!

We also need every vertical surface to be usable as cover, not just few predefined covers (look at Call of Juarez you ripped that system off, there you can use anything as cover), and we need character to point weapon up not only against covers, but against every vertical surface like we had in Crysis 1 (i suppose this is another bug of Crysis 2?).

Also we need Alcatraz to talk, so spen a little of your money to record at least some lines for Alkatraz and add them with patch!

And thats the minimum you owe us Crytek because you promised that to use and because you cheated us!

Look at developer of The Witcher game - year after release they not just fixed game bugs, but added a lot of new gameplay features and game design enhancement, and they released it as big patch, and additionally re-released game as "The Witcher Enhanced Edition", so you better should copy their behavior Crytek - release 1-1.5gb sized patch that will add a lot of mentioned things, for those who bought original version of Crysis 2, and re-release Crysis 2 as for example Crysis 2 Maximum Edition (with this patch included already) for those who aint yet own the game - that generous move may help you clear your reputation and undo damage you did to yourself due of your greediness.
Otherwise most of us will never buy any of your games again!

People, please copy and paste my post (feel free to add more wishes and fix my mistakes) to remind Crytek what they should add into patch!

think DX11 can use dx10 graphics cards with dx10 effects, think that DX11 is a dx10 vitamins, more optimized and texelacion etc.

PD: CRYTEK , please show pictures DX11, as we await the release the patch we will make it short.

Guys -
I hate to rain on people's parade, but there's no way Crytek will include DX10 support. Think about it...Crytek has a very close relationship with NVIDIA...what does NVIDIA want to sell? Why DX11 cards of course.

I was most suprised to see the detail level for reflections etc in this release, almost had to check I was playing the game in 'extreme' gfx mode.

Welcome news about the forthcoming inclusion of dx11 features but things like the above are a must imho.

You guys are ridiculous. No game dev is going to make realtime reflections of glass surfaces in the background that nobody is ever going to unintentionally see. Why spend 10ms computing realtime reflections when it won't make any noticeable difference whatsoever in the scene quality.

Also, DX11 doesn't magically make a game look 99999999999 times better (see BFBC2).

DX11 will probably bring: Performance improvements for GI, More accurate soft shadows, brute-force hardware tessellation.

IMO the game looks just fine now, but rather than putting out a useless dx11 patch, a high-res textures patch and bugfixes for the Damn AI might be a better use of time and resources. But nooo you guys kept shouting "WHY NO DX11" and now look what we're getting...

mangosango + 1, all that I need to pack high textures, revised AI and advanced settings, rather than a file with the text "DX11" (sorry, the translation of Google)

What a surprise..?, Though Crysis 2 is running well at its current (factory-set) settings. A dx11 patch would help keep the new Gpu's within safe support there on after. I'm impressed. :)

You guys are ridiculous.

Sure thing sparky, always depend on the yank child to be overtly aggressive. It's all about immersion isn't it me laddo, if I'm walking through a puddle I want it to at least reflect the scene around me, not have an arbitrary cube map that frankly looks like it came out of UT2003 and spoils any sense of being 'in the moment' it just really is disappointing considering previous outings from Crytek.

I've been, overall, very happy with what C2 has to offer given it's urban setting etc but little things like these that the company used to get really excited about getting right on previous games are just, well missing this time around.

I don't think that's too much to ask especially when it's just not that hard to do on that scale.

I want to weep into Cry-Toms shirt until it is sopping with my tears. I would then debride him of his saline soaked shirt, and writhe on it in an undulating fashion until said outer wear is as dry and starchy as weathered newspaper on a hot summers day.
