IMO the game looks just fine now, but rather than putting out a useless dx11 patch, a high-res textures patch and bugfixes for the Damn AI might be a better use of time and resources. But nooo you guys kept shouting "WHY NO DX11" and now look what we're getting...
The team working on DX11 aren't the same team working on textures and AI :)
I like how he used present tense. Maybe there'll be an AI/texture update as well.

Has any game, ever, put out a texture update patch? I don't see it happening

AI bug patch is something reasonable and realistic. The AI in this game is pretty much broken, they need to fix it.

They need to release the kit so people can start modding and making their own texture patches

I really doubt about free patch…
Probably they will release some kind expansion (something like Crysis Warfare) with DX11 patch (which will update Crysis 2 )... and all this won’t be free!
It's a patch, not an expansion. Learn the difference.

Why the **** do people think the patch or DX11 will cost money. That is completely ridiculous. It's a PATCH not a DLC or EXPANSION.

In far cry, crytec released a 64bit patch that include new texture with a major detail.
So, it is possible. And i expect this from crytec.

Awesome news, maybe i'll have to overclock my 580? :D
The DX9 looks fine but i'd love the opportunity to hammer my GPU.
Thanks!

If no patch comes out by fall - this game will stop selling the instant bf3 comes out fully optimized for pc gaming. They probably know that but i'm sure there are only a handful of capable teams like that out there Crytek can still prove they have it. the dx9 version you must admit is awesome for what it is.. so the dx11 should be equally good.

but can they add proper destructive environments in time?

This is great. Obviously the question is ETA,ETA,ETA? any insight? Also The PC gamer article "Crysis 2 to receive DirectX 11 patch". States that "This is sure to please all those who spent money upgrading their systems to be a ‘Crysis 2 killer’, only to find out that the game supported just DirectX 9." Is this true? That Crysis 2 currently only supports DX9? Even Crysis 1 supported DX10. If so very sad for Crytek to forget that PC platform made them, and skimp on PC for console cash =P. Also are you guys ever going to fix the multiplayer connection issues with D-link routers? I'm tired of turning off router firewall settings just to play Crysis 2 multiplayer.

Does this mean there will be better physics?

Crysis 2 really needs more destructible environments. ESPECIALLY BULLET PENETRATION.

we should be able to shoot down trees like in the original crysis

Dude seriously where have u been? Lolz. Crysis 2 looks great for DX9 but there are some poor textures etc that a lot of ppl are hoping gets improved along with the DX11 support.

This the best news I have heard all day today. Dx11 mode will be selectable in the graphics option mode right to enable dx11. And is the crysis team working a patch for the game for the in game tweaks in get rid of that system spec mode?

thats great man! i cant wait to see it!

BTW i dont know what happened cause i just bought this game yesterday(and beat the campain today btw!!:) and i loved it! i played the mp and had no problems. im using ati radeon 5770's in crossfire as well with no flickering at all! i came here just to see if they had a new patch(just hoping i would be able to change more advanced gfx features) and i saw all these complaints! WTF happened? i had no problems at all! honestly i wouldnt doubt if they give it game of the year.

one other thing is that i have problems with every game that comes out anymore (except crysis 2). the reason for a lot of the bugs (i think) is because of pirates and hackers! They are making it harder and harder to for coders to try and stop them. I think if your going to be mad be mad at them not the makers. they are just trying to be able to pay their employees and make some cheese for themselves.

p.s. After the way things went with crysis 1, all the patches and fixes that came out way later than the original release, how can you guys get so mad, like you didn't expect it? If you were a real crysis fan you would have known and thats why i waited to buy this game untill now. Hell I expect it from every game now! Calm down guys they will fix it like they always do!!!

I don't know about the nano catalyst bugs but, with AI, if your talking about how some of the troops are kinda just standing around or running into a wall or not reacting very well then yea i noticed that! That was in the first one too but waaaayyyyy worse! I understand people getting mad if they've never played crysis but if they bought the first one when it came out like i did, then they would be shocked with excitement that this one only had the few bugs it did. The stuff I'm seeing people complain about are nothing compared to the first one! Hell in the first one i remember that sometimes it would flicker so bad i couldn't play it and everyone was havin that problem not just amd (AKA ATI) or nvidia users! Jesus people there are so many hardware components out there it is really hard to test everything and make sure it works for everyone! if they did that it would be another 2 years before the game would be released. I'ts faster, cheaper, and more efficient to release the game and let the public test it, then fix it as problems come up LIKE THEY DO WITH EVERY GAME! I've gotten used to it.

why do you THINK people turn into pirates and hackers? half of the people that bought crysis 2 now will turn into it, becouse the game is ****, so why not pirate it for free and hack for free? have your fun with it.. if they want to **** us over i can TOTALLY see people **** them over...

Crytek **** up big time on this one, end of story.

Here is what i dont get, WHAT THE **** IS THE POINT OF HAVING A BETA/DEMO? so you find out the bugs fix them before the **** release! know it looks like another **** marketing idea.. buy this game and you get beta to that game? the **** is this **** the beta should be free so people experiment with it for free, and once the **** is fixed they sell the game...

Crysis 1 didn't really have destructible environments either. Those buildings were made of individual parts stacked together. You couldn't really tear up a wall, like in BFBC2. The real difference might be that not all trees in Crysis 2 can be shot down. Again, a useless rant. DX11 might give us more to play with.
