DX11 Patch Announced for Crysis 2!

Textures notwithstanding, which for the most part aren't a major factor; Crysis 2 is worlds better visually than Crysis 1

every game now is PORTED to PC, just look at every game demos, battlefield 3 and Rage and bioshock infinite, YOU KNOW that the guy whos playing is using a gamepad :P

i don't have a link but in an entire interview some guy from DICE talks about how the developers are working on the pc version first and exclusivley and THEN scaling it all down to the consoles. Not all of the developers are shunning us pc gamers out :P

look at the demo and you will see what i mean, look at Rage as well, its noting but auto aim and smooth movements that can only be done with a gamepad

doesnt mean that any dev that makes console game = EVIL, lets not be silly, it just the way it is these days, also doesnt mean PC gaming is dieing either

and id like to say i have a ps3, x360 and a pc, so im no fan boy XD

Crysis 2 does not in noway look better than 1! Crysis 2 only runs better, due to the newer hardware we have now, lower res textures, closed environment, very limited destructible environment. Lack of physics....Dam the physics was good in 1, and if they added Nvidia physx, the game would truly be awesome...(Looks at Mafia 2)!

So Crysis 2 was 100% Console port.

So everyone is saying the "NON-TWEAKED" and "NO RETEXTURES" settings used in crysis 1 look better than 2?

YEP!

With the added tweaks, it makes the game far superior to Crysis 2

Stop blaming the PC community for Piracy, when Console gamers are just as bad for it!

I buy all my games, as I like to support the developers, and reward them for their hard work.

no consoles are not primary profit, its just easier to devople games that way

and i buy my own games, and according to Valve, the guy in charge of Steam said that PC gaming is not dieing cuz of how much profit they generate, i think i saw that at gamespot, Valve would not relese their Steam profit records to stupid financial anolyis,

cuz those idiots would go around claiming PC gaming is dieing, i wish i had the link, look it up :) Valve just blew away that claim

Many PC gamers pirates theire games, yes. But a good amount of those who are downloading games does it to test the game. And if they like the game, they will buy it. If they don't they won't buy it. I have saved a lot of money in that way. Many games that I thought should be good weren't. So I am glad that I downloaded them first so that I didn't waste my money : )

The Crysis2 physic is better than the Crysis1 physic, just compare the behavior of a car fall for exemple, or other object. its more realist. ( not FAR away better, but yeah definitely better )

And if the car dont blow away with explosion like in crysis1 i suppose its because they dont config explosion physic pressure to save somes memory or so ( saddly )

And in Crysis2 there isnt less physic stuff, since in crysis1 only the village house was ""destructable" + a few barrier or sign.

They just config less physic stuff thats all.

False...go look up MOUSE SMOOTHING..................

Crysis 1 supports controllers, even has a picture of the Xbox 360 controller when you use it...so what? Crysis 1 was a console port?

HeHe,i think a game should be operated more easier and be more filmable like as Hollywood film for console,and for Pc,the game should be more free to choose and complicated on operating,and more brighter on graphic.

consoles are primary profit?PC users is destroying Pc games?no,do you know how much Blizzard have made from wow and sc2 Pc users?the key is game value and the way that people can bear and would like to pay

yep that's true. some guy from DICE did say that. I also saw somewhere that they have 70% of their team working on the PC version.

The physic on crysis 1 was beyond destructable things, one example is the bullet trajectory, on crysis 1, wen you shot a bullet, this was afected by enviromental factors and you canot achive a snipper shot whit a handgun so easily because the bullet was deviated by the wind, yopu can see the efect of this same wind in the trees and plants, and even water, but in crysis 2 i can get whit no ease far snipper shots whit my handgun at distances so far that the ai even didnt notice that his fellows are dying at his side, and the wind dosent afect anything at all, also the recoil of the weapon was another factor that was missing, on Crysis every weapon has a recoyl effect that you must figth whit skills or the maximun strengt mode, on crysis 2 that effect is gone for most of the weapons, , other example is the maximun speed mode, in Crysis 1, the speed increeses was exponential, this mean that the fastest you run the longest you can jump, on crysis 2 the speed doent affect your jump at all, your jump is always the same, this can be seen a lot better cheating on the game, on crysis 1 puting a max energy cheat, you can achive insane speeds whit maximun speed mode because the exponential increese at one point that crashing whit some tree or wall kills your caracter, on crysis 2 using the same cheat, you can run and run, and the speed is always the same, and if you crash nothing happen, and i colud go on an on, but this examples are one of the most noticeable for me.

Crysis 2 its a great game, but non close to the first one at all, Cheers,

False...go look up MOUSE SMOOTHING..................

Does anyone else agrees with me that the demo of Rage, Battlefield 3 and the new Bioshock is played on a console?
the smooth movements (not mouse smoothing, the movements as well) and the auto aim is showing

huge disappointment, why was this even unstickied? theres no technical information on this patch nor screenshots..id say unstickieing this is how crytek is gonna back out..not even excited for crysis 3 anymore

It's still a sticky. It was merely removed from 'announcements' to 'topics'.

Don't think the dx11 patch is going to be coming out for quite some time.
I recon its not going to be released till they release the editer in august.
So they can get dx11 working properly in the editor
That's me prediction
Just have to wait :)

While it's probably true, it's hard to just blindly accept this at face value. Here a PC centric company is saying, "We won't provide any proof, but the PC market is doing awesome!" If their stance is, we'll provide that info to the developer and they can choose to release it, then I'm fine with that.

Everything may be just great on the PC side of things. Just seems that it would be to everyone's benefit if someone or some group would release some real data that proved it, versus various people randomly saying "Things are great!"

What people have yet to understand with Crytek releasing DX11 at a later time, is that it takes time to make all 3d models tessellated. If anyone has used the new build of UDK with DX11 features they will now how the extra tessellation is added. Unless Crytek build that ability directly into their engine it will take some time. so be patient. It obviously seem like they are putting their time into it to create the best looking DX11 game.
