DX11 Patch Announced for Crysis 2!

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 4:33 am

When do you think we will see some media samples of the Dx11 content?

Most probably when all interest in Crysis 2 is gone.

I personally think that BETTER than having a DX11 patch was to allow PC GAMERS to have full control over this:

1) antialiasing levels
2) shadows levels
3) anisotropic levels
4) blur levels
5) Texture levels
6) water levels
7) Environment levels (such as trees, sky, etc)

WE, PC GAMERS, want GRAPHICAL Settings available!! This is REALLY important!! More than a DX11 patch that probably will still have no graphic settings at all!!

THANKS!

good news

REALLY? Do you think that a DX11 patch is a good new? Good news would be Crytek to announce that their next patch would ALLOW PC GAMERS to change graphical settings independently, such as textures, water, antialiasing, blur intensity, shades, particles, and so on, and so on!! DX11 patch will be available and... PROBABLY with no graphical options, which is BAD!!!

What about this, huh?!

for Christ's sake, leave the kid alone. The ability to customize graphical settings is not going to be in C2 because it's an awful console port. Even a DX11 patch is amazing to get for such a consolised game. Then again, it's not like Crytek decided to give us DX11 because they are so good to their fans, no, we're getting dx11 because of nvidia gave some $$ for them.

The best part will be the large percentage of people screaming for DX11 that will repost after that patch saying "Why won't my system run DX11?.....I want a patch....".....lol You know there's gonna be posts like that....haha

I hope that Crytek will make this game run like the old Crysis, otherwise I will have no reason to upgrade!

Crysis 1 was the reason I spent the last 4yrs buying the latest hardware, to get the maximum graphics out of the game.
Now 4yrs on I can play the game maxed out with added HD texture pack + Silent foliage pack, 16xQAA, and my custom ultra config @ 60FPS avg.

There are still no games on the current market, that looks better than Crysis 1! Why?.....Consoles and their 5yr old tech is holding us PC gamers back.
Dam! if a console had a GTX 580 in bedded in it, we would be seeing some serious eyecandy from developers!
Not this crap low resolution textures!!

I totally AGREE! I have read some comments in here and many of them show a "strange" happyness for the DX11 patch promise! What0s so good about the damned patch if we PC GAMERS don't have customizable graphic options?? Antialiasing, textures quality, water quality, shadows quality, and so on....!!! I should RETURN THIS GRaphically BAD Game to Crytek and have my monkey back for all the lies they told to PC GAMERS about Crysis 2!! LIES, nothing but lies and false vows!!

GRRR!!

They will certainly never again get my money!
Destroy Crysis franchise in this way for children with consoles.
Shame!

How is a console version even possible?

surely you have to play the first to understand the second?

Im sure theres console users thinking "who the f*ck is this Prophet guy?" and "whats with all these flash backs?"

You wouldnt start the lord of the rings trilogy with the third one would you?

Lol its not the consoles fault - if not for them then i doubt there would of been a c2. Crytek could of made far more optimisation and options on console too - but yes its crap that the PC version is held back but its the engines fault - its scalable lor meant to be - Crytek just forgot this like all the other stuff omited from other version like G.I, options, latency and frames XD - Soon with Mods, PC C2 ll be High texture photo realistic smooth experience and all console users have to look forward to is being jealous and envious of free mods/maps/packs and left feeling robbed cos they paid more for this beta of a release to help fund the DX11 patches and editors LOL

I don't mind waiting a while longer for the dx11, if it's not included in this weeks patch i'll still not play it ; i completed the campaign twice, quite enjoyed it, found out it was dx9 then shelved it.(shelved for two weeks now)

Question for Crytek: will this be a free-for-all patch or a spin-off/DLC/standalone expansion which incorporates the graphic enhancements? Whatever the case, don't forget a better 3D implementation

Luckily I'm a console gamer that actually watched 20+ videos of the Crysis 1 campaign, so I understand the game. And the 360 / PS3 aren't as bad as you think. 3.2gHz(TriCore for the 360, 8 core for the PS3), and a 550 mHz graphics card for each. Slow, but not bad.

There is already a community made app to change all the settings you were used to seeing in Crysis one.

Fine tuned or not Tesselation or whatever is not going to improve this game for me , There is so much more missing from the Crysis world and its clear this Is now a console franchise. Sure they can polish the graphics more , there might even be some texture packs and asset improvments and the like But its still just to much of a constricted game , the sum of its parts pale in comparison to the Original that i loved so much .
Complete disconnection from Crysis 1 Alien design didnt impress me much as well.

As most multi port games are now designed completely around Current console tech there will be less and less use of larger side of PC resources. Sure shiny is nice but its total package that makes for something I want to play again , Or in this case, At all. There are some good games in this "new multiport genre " that ive played so far and im excited for some to come .

Duke Nukem , yet another multi port game I think will Destroy this title in the fun factor .. There is nothing the cry engine can do that ive seen so far that isnt already being done , or recently Been done and a whole lot better , on other engines.

Ugh, the multiplayer's pretty fun, but I'm NEVER gonna get to start the campaign at this rate. I realize it takes time to do things properly, but having the game in hand is really testing my patience. They definitely should have delayed the game. They still woulda made a killing from the summer vacation crowd, when people actually have time to play games.

If the DX11 patch comes next year then i am going to chuck my disk into the sewer. The least they could do is give us full access to the graphics options while we wait.

DX9 still looks simply amazing and I play on "High" My GPU is in bottleneck by the CPU (amd athlon 64 x2 6000+) and my gpu is (evga gtx470)

Either way, the game is playable on extreme but laggy at times, it gets me killed so i play on high

If they add the graphics theres gonna be more glitches. I'd rather them fix the glitches that are happening right now like AI in campaign, THEN move into graphics
