DX11 Patch Announced for Crysis 2!

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 1:56 am

..I'd rather them fix the glitches that are happening right now like AI in campaign, THEN move into graphics

Graphics first, lets us see what the fack we're talking about here., :P
I wanna be blown away by the graphics, it is 2011 after all.

It would create more glitches. Maybe even more than crytek can handle

Doesn't matter, go DX11. They're apparently already way beyond the point of glitches to handle. At least I can play once more solo looking at the graphics. MP is dead (to me) due to the blatant hacker paradise.

i'd like aim assist back to controllers first. and why you left it for K+M in the first place?

if u play the pc version it is not determinded to use other control systems than the mouse and the keyboard, there are consoles for ppl to play with controllers AND aim-assist. i dont think its fair for us pixelhunters to get shot by ppl that are aiming in our direction but not at us. thank you crysis for seeing the logic in a simple thing like this.

I've already asked Crytek to do that (via email), told them they need to give us a "litte more detailed info" when making these types of annoucements. I know they can not have it ready the "exact day" they say they will, but some type of "estimated time frame" would be nice. I am sure they set a time frame of when to have it completed by, so it would be nice if we knew what this estimated time frame is...

Give it some time they said there will be a DX 11 patch so there will be one unless they state otherwise. It could be months until we see it but at least we're getting one <-<;

A few months ...oh really, well lemme tell ya, if it does take months you know what's gonna happen the next time crytek releases a game, ..., lemme tell ya, it's gonna be fail city and no-one is gonna waste their money on more fail.

FAIL FAIL FAIL

been patient since day 1 of games release and have not said s#!t, but to crytek: give your customers and your sales a estimated release date for dx11 patch. you started as a computer game based company and made a name in the gamming world. now you tarnish your company by not holding to your status you once had as best graphics in a game ( benchmark if you will). I know its easy to create then dumb down for the consoles, but keep true to your roots and the pc community as well. one day thats all you may have. congrats for the bold move to multi platform gamming and the money that is generated from it, just do it right or not at all IMO.

I Totally Agree theres a chance they could turn this around if crytek are willing to and supposedly care

I don't get what a morsel of information about dx11 would hurt. everyday i come to this forum in hopes of some sort of information about DX11. you know a daily progress tread. It could say something well had a bad day testing the dx11 patch but at the end of the day we got back on track and now it looks like we are making some progress. Check in tomorrow with some more news to see if we are getting closer or taking any steps back. cheers.

I completely agree. There seems to be a serious lack of communication from Crytek. Considering we were told there would be a day 1 patch for DX11 I think we deserve a little more information on this. This makes me feel uneasy about the patch. At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if they just decided not to release it at all. I have played through the game 3 times now. The DX11 patch will be pretty much useless to me at this rate. Great game, but for us graphics enthusiasts, DX11 is definitely an issue. Really makes you want to go to Germany and knock on their door. "hello??, whats up with this whole DX11 thing?. Wish you would just post a little more about it, so I dont have to drive you Germany, but since you didnt, here I am, anyone have cab fair for a ride home?"

Its not worth it to ask anything anymore. See that no one will answer anything and never will!
They've destroyed this game just like Raven and Endrant studios destroy Wolfenstein.
And all because of consoles, consoles, consoles.......let them burn in hell!
Disgrace!

Its got nothing to do with consoles - Crysis 2 would not of been made without their ca$h FULLSTOP.
And blaming console tech on making C2 poor is bullox - they could of DX11 from the start - high textures from the start ,optimisation from the start.
The engine is supposed to be scalable - if its not then its cryteks fault not the lack of console memory.
Poor rigs never stopped crysis one being a monster engine, and being cool on a beast of a PC

people seem to think crytek has a say it what happens. In all honesty they have very little. EA pays them and runs the show. EA says whats to be included and when its released, and crytek arnt allowed to say anything that hasnt been ok'd by ea.

We are NOT the customers, Ea is and they sell it on to us. And we have all seen how ea has ruined almost every decent developer they has used.
It dosent change the fact that i am still pissed of with the quality of crysis 2 as it could have been so much better and i would have waited for a more finished game. Or even a working one.

crytec= developer, ea= distributor, us(me & you)= consumer.

We're the customers, not ea, we're the ones that have been fecked, not ea.

I have to add my voice to this forum. The technical state of this game is an embarassment.
Even at 1.4 these game-breakers are still there:

- Completely broken AI in SP that ruins the experience to start with.

- Graphical bugs left and right like flashing textures, a downed helicopter floating out of the sea into oblivion (physics problem?), momentary empty hands in MP when swapping weapons.

- overlapping music in the Customize Equipment menu in MP makes you want to mute everything,

- and something I haven't seen other posts about: Random reflections on water surfaces on the road.
What's reflected is completely irrelevant to the surrounding environment.

No game is ever bug free. Glitches slip through on every developer. QA teams miss bugs that we see from the start and it's very common in PC Gaming. I'm happy Crytek left out DX11 at launch so they could get it right and release it later. The facts are that nobody would want an unoptimized DX11 mode shipped with any game period. Had DX11 shipped with Crysis 2 from the start we'd be here like we were with Crysis 1 complaining about it's performance, poor optimizations and it's completely rushed state.

We got DX9 to start with because it was perfected and working without a hitch. The DX9 eye candy is clearly present and accounted on the PC side.

Would you want a rushed DX11 mode at release or get it later when it's actually ready?

Same case can be said for Shogun 2 which decided to release DX11 later while CA worked out the kinks and get it optimized more.

Exactly my point. I'd rather have a completed copy released later than an unfinished at the start
