DX11 Patch in 2-3 Months

Post » Tue Nov 09, 2010 7:27 pm

It seems like its gonna be quite a long time b4 we get a dx11 patch:
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-03-30-crysis-2-dx11-fix-in-2-3-months-report

started in november? wtf, crytek had quite a long time to work on this game, its been a long time since Crysis: Warhead had been released, what have they been doing this whole time? Even DICE does a better job keeping promises.

It is not true? I think otherwise. In their "announcement" thread, they never mentioned anything about dx11, what is up with the secrecy? Almost 2/3 of the threads in this forum is about how this game lacks dx11, it is a little obvious that they are trying to ignore it. If they really are working hard, and is close to getting the dx11 patch done, they would have said something in the announcement thread, so far it is all about the game's security. Even the Crysis 2 PC "Fixes" thread does not even mention the lack of dx11 which needs to be fixed. Crytek is fairly quiet about this topic, and this explains everything.

DICE does a better job in keeping promises?

ARE YOU STUPID or IGNORANT? Crytek is still keeping their promise. JUST BECAUSE DX11 will come later than we expected doesn't mean Crytek can't keep their promise, that makes no sense >_<"

CryTiago stated there's 16ms of DX11 to work with. If you actually do RESEARCH or KNOW about game developing, 16ms is 16 milliseconds, and 16 milliseconds is A LOT of tech time. You act as if Crytek had been working on Crysis 2 since Warhead's release. NEWSFLASH, you're wrong. They worked mainly on CryEngine 3. Actually, Crysis 2 probably took 2 years or so. It was supposed to be a holiday 2010 game, but EA saw Medal of Honor to be that type of game. They wanted Crysis 2 to be their Quarter 1 March 2011 game so they delayed it. But Crytek added more cool **** to the game, the leaked **** them up, EA would not let more time because the Crysis 2 release was part of their strategic plan to get more money and umm....yeah, now we have Crysis 2 a rather incomplete game. Still awesome tho, i love it, and i anticipate the updates and patches that are going to fix it.

The big reason for it is that despite their efforts you still get some artifacts in the motion blur and sunshaft effects that was only present in DX9 Crysis. An upgrade to DX11 should get rid of that. And depending on how they do it improve performance.

Don't blame EA for everything- they are Neanderthals i agree but they have given enough free time to the developers in the past as and when they requested. This time crytek screwed up, showed favoritism towards other platforms. Even a DX11 port would look ugly.

IF this article is accurate then what does it mean by DX10 not being supported? That would mean millions of people who have 8 series nVidia cards or ATI equivalent to 200 series or equivalent are royally screwed. If the article's accurate.

If you're using an 8/9/2 series and hd2/3/4 series dx10 cards you aren't getting above 30-40fps on extreme @ 1920x1080 anyway, so stop complaining, dx11 and dx10 won't help you because the extra affects would only push you below minimum acceptable framerates.

from what i understand the Cry engine 3 was built on DX9 and Nvidia just resently gave Crytek 2 million to incorporate DX11 Wich is why there is no sandbox on release they will have to rebuild the engine code for dx11 once that is done we will get the patch and sandbox

It can`t be fun for me without getting the most out of the technology I was expecting (dx11), besides forums are filled with stuff about online cheaters.
It could be compared to at first setting up a date with a hot girl online while you have only seen photos of her and it turns you on, then right before the date is supposed to be she confesses that she is really fat but just managed to photoshop herself to look fit. Would you still go? I would not.

So IGN, a company who HAS to deliver accurate information on video games has technically lied about the interview with Nathan Camarillo who said there will be "DX11 coming to PC"? Or what about the ones with Cevat Yerli. Or **** MOST OF THEIR Crysis 2 coverage?? It's IGN's job in which they HAVE to deliver accurate and true information, otherwise they could get into hot water.

I think Cry-Adam meant there were no announcements about DX11 coming out March 28th or whatever because to him and Cry-Tom, both were reading topics to sources about DX11 from no-name sites. But if anything, I take Nathan Camarillo's and Cevat Yerli's words over Cry-Adam/Cry-Tom's words, just mere informers to the community, any day.

Wouldn't date online in the 1st place.

PS: Its only a good comparison if the fat girl consciously decided that not being fat was a low priority. Because Crytek obviously decided DX11 and high res textures were a low priority.

I tried to imply the turnoff caused by realization of the change between what you were expecting and what you would be getting.
Yep so Crytek decided PC and cutting edge technology is a low priority. I can imagine one of their meetings when somebody just throws the idea in the air: "Hey we will make enough money anyways, console kids buy the game and majority of the PC users prolly buy the game even if we let it be dx9, so what do you say guys there`s an happy hour in the corner pub?" .. and after that they realized there`s not enough time to include dx11 so they just dropped it.

Yeah, Crytek keeps their promises,
But I wonder why there still is no Crysis 1.3 patch or Crysis Wars 1.6 patch that would have solved all the problems that existed.

;)

Skyrim is another port "Our graphics work centers around doing things that will look the same regardless of platform". Don't buy it.
