DX11 TEARING WITH SLI

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 12:38 pm

I'm using 1.9/dx11/high res textures and ultra settings.
When I keep Vsync off, I am seeing CONSTANT tearing in at LEAST 4 horizontal lines, probably more. If I try it with Vsync on, even though I'm using an LED aquos 1080p tv @ 120hz, the picture and mouse/keyboard response is slow as balls.
My tv automatically caps itself at 24hz when I start up crysis 2, I can't figure out how to stop it from happening.
I'm using gtx 460 1gb sli cards. I've heard these work just fine for this game. Anyone else have the tearing issue, or know how to solve this?
I'm also using geforce driver 271.60, haven't updated to 275.33 because I heard it decreases performance in the game and also witcher 2.

rig specs:
msi gd-65 b3 mobo
core i5 2400 sandybridge
2x2gb ddr3 dual channel crucial ballistix ram
coolermaster 850w psu

You can't get rid of tearing without Vsync.

I found the vsync is pretty much broke in this game since 1.9 (ATI side at least), but I've found a good workaround.

1/ Download rivatuner

2/ Install it but don't run it, it's not rivatuner you need but a tool called D3DOverrider

3/ Go to where you installed rivatuner (i.e. Program files) and inside the rivatuner folder there should be a folder called tools. Open tools folder and you should find D3DOverrider.exe, run it.

4/ Set triple buffering and V sync to on, also set run at startup if you prefer. This tool will force those settings better than your control panel and you should see an increase of framerates compared to enabling Vsync normally but without any tearing.
