It already is GOTY, best FPS ever made, best graphics ever for a game, best production quality, best optimization, best sound and music, and best gameplay ever for SP and MP. With DX11 it could become the greatest game of all time, think about that.

It's not GOTY. And it's definately not on the PC. For consoles, maybe, standards there are somewhat low as you might have heard.

Also, gameplay > graphics so DX11 isn't gonna change that. And worst, lack of support > gameplay, in the wrong sense.

Better wait for BF3 if you want a real DX11 game, instead of a sugar-coated DX9 API.

well actually i believe that crysis 2 WILL be the GOTY because i really enjoyed the SP and ultimately enjoying the MP(when i dont bump into a cheater) and with dx11 this game will get enough extra grading and will be GOTY. BF3 will be an awsome game but i doubt it will beat crysis 2... anyway who cares im gonna buy both games and enjoy fast action paced games with crysis 2 and ultimate destruction and obliteration on BF3

DX11 wont fix the game to be honest.
Just adding DX11 support wont fix all the bugs this game has.

I have hard time believing this game would ever be GOTY, just look at the amount of awesome games coming out this year.

BF3 will definitely be the game of the year. We will see if C2 will be on top5 with that DX11 and MP fixes.

Well, right now I would put it as a contender.

The only real competition is:

Battlefield 3
Uncharted 3
Deus Ex 3

Hmmmm... That will be stiff competition. It'll be interesting to see what dx11 brings to the table, but (as another said) gameplay is king. It's the gameplay of these other games that will need to surpass Crysis 2 to keep it from being GOTY.

I really can't see it being Game of the Year. Though it depends on what other games come out and how well they do. I think Rage, Battlefield 3, maybe even Duke Nukem, maybe an MMO like RIFT all have a equal chance. IF DX 11 is all that is needed to make this Game of the Year, then I'm really out of sync with the "cool crowd"

I just noticed Starcraft 2 was GOTY last year lols. FAIL! Supreme Commander 2 is just so much better, it's not even opinion it's fact, and they're in the same freaking genre!

sad thing is ppl dont associate FPS with pc gaming anymore. I am sick and tired of pipeline pc exclusive strategy and rpg games.

The games that has been listed so far are the ones that will probably trump Crysis 2 for GOTY. Battlefield 3 will be a very anticipated game, Dirt 3 as well. The next Call of Duty and Skyrim would most likely be in the mix too. But most of all I think Mass Effect 3 is gonna blast the house.

It already was beaten by Shogun 2 in the reviews and those are the people who will decide GOTY.

Battlefield 3 may have better graphics and the generally awesome BF multiplayer, but it's probbaly going to have a boring as **** and terrible campaign like every other Battlefield ever made. If they can somehow not fail at campaign it's definitely GOTY.

Crysis 2 has a kickass campaign and decent multiplayer (Crysis 1 got GOTY with nice campaign but horrible multiplayer). And it's not like the graphics are substandard. Better than the majority of games...I agree. If DX11 is properly implemented it has a good chance.

Well, that's an opinion. Here's another: C2 campaign is plain horrible. Some scenes and cutscenes are great, but that hardly covers up the worst fps A.I in years and the extremely poor level design that totally breaks the actual game play experience.

GOTY? I think not. JustinBiebers is either a Crytek employee or has been hitting the crack pipe one too many times.

As a C1 and Warhead owner I have to say that C2 is a big disappointment so far. I'd probably return the game if I could. I am just hoping that future patches and/or mods will bring this game closer to the level of it's predecessors.

You see, 1 week ago a ****ton of ppl were biching about no dx 11, saying that crysis 2 was the worst game ever made, texture problems, boring gameplay, and then crytek pops up sayin' that there will be a dx 11 patch and everyone gets excited.
