Dyan phor a'Cauz

Hello everyone..I've started this thread as a general appreciation for she who has been perhaps my most epic and famous character of all, Dyan phor a'Cauz. :celebration:

http://i936.photobucket.com/albums/ad208/xenaclone/armor_stand.jpg

Here she stands, posing before an almost complete collection of the Crusader's Relics. She had become head of the Fighter's Guild while searching for these relics, and after becoming the FG leader, she devoted almost all of her time to gathering up those who would be worthy to help her defeat Umaril.

Along the way, she managed to snag this impressive full suit of golden Elven Armor. Those citizens of Tamriel who were lucky enough to have met her in the towns, however, probably saw her like this...

http://i936.photobucket.com/albums/ad208/xenaclone/Photo-0053.jpg

Humble, dressed in rags, and visiting one of Cyrodiil's many chapels for long hours in quiet contemplation of The Nine.

As she finalized motions and gathered up the Knights of the Nine, she came across an unlikely team of helpful Lawful Good citizens, the Jemane brothers.

http://i936.photobucket.com/albums/ad208/xenaclone/view-1.jpg

Taking the Jemanes briefly around Cyrodiil, Dyan was proud of her little adventuring party, as she was now more confident at destroying any of Tamriel's evils. Long before finding the Jemanes, she frequently moaned about the lack of help she got from her so-called "Fighter's Guild" confidants. Well, no more.

http://i936.photobucket.com/albums/ad208/xenaclone/brief.jpg

Unfortunately, the Jemanes eventually befouled her. OR did they?

As Dyan left Shardrock, the Jemanes having befelled this farmhouses menace of local black bears, Dyan realized the next day the Jemanes were nowhere to be seen! And one of them still had the Crusader's Sword! Dyan still managed to defeat Umaril without the Sword, however, as she used the infamous Akaviri Warblade to defeat him instead.

But after defeating Umaril, she was on the warpath to find the Crusader's Sword :verymad: and she eventually did. Although she forgot she had left the Jemanes at Shardrock, she was "on the way" to this farm cottage for a night of rest when she found the brothers.

http://i936.photobucket.com/albums/ad208/xenaclone/view-3.jpg

That is the final scene of her destiny. Did she return the Brothers to their home of Weatherleah? Did she manage to get the Sword back to its rightful place? Did the Brothers actually give the sword back, or did she have to take it back by force?

Such questions are lost to the ravages of time. And as this historian scribes the story of Dyan phor a'Cauz 200 years later here in Skyrim, all we can presume is that she, in fact, did manage to destroy Umaril, and saved the lands of Tamriel for years and years of peace and prosperity.

And I've alerted the mods so this gets moved to the proper place then. I only post threads in the OB general, Skyrim general, and OB Cheats areas, am unfamiliar with other areas of this site.

Ahh that last screen. They're both holding their torches out to her, almost as a salute to her greatness.

I will miss hearing about her for sure. :foodndrink:

Thank you moderator Umi. You

I like how Dyan's story ends. As I was gaming with her, it just felt right. Not that her story "ended", but that it actually continued somehow, but I am not to know what that "somehow" is. Like, a lot of times when we read a book, the ending isn't really an ending, it just happens to be where the book ends. Or the movie ends. Know what I mean? The actual story in the book might go on for quite awhile. We can speculate all we want, but we are not to know what really happened.

I actually had no idea they would be at Shardrock, I could have sworn she last saw them at a nearby fort. So when Dyan pulled up on them at Shardrock, I was really SURPRISED to see them. It was one of those fantastic unscripted spontaneous gaming moments!

Dyan looked at them. She faced them, she greeted them, and I'm assuming she may have lectured them. I had to go to bed, and as I was making her last save, I thought "that's it! That's her story! That's how it "ends".

I like the mystery at the end. ;)

...Mystery. Miss Terri. Yes, Kate, I know I know..I'll get to you next! Vampires!

I like the ending. I know the NPCs wouldn't give it back, but now there is some doubt. Now that it is up to the imagination, they could give it back. Or not. Who knows?

I know exactly what you mean Renee. That is how my Oblivion characters end. Not with their death, or anything really melodramatic. It is just that the story they were part of ends. Sure, their life goes on, but that is not what this movie is about. Then I go on to another character, and live out another story through them. So excellent to see Dyan's story set out for us in this way. Cheers! :celebration:

I really must say I am too very impressed by your devotion to your characters, Renee. And Dyan′s "ending" was a perfect one I might add. She didn′t die in an epic battle, nor did she fade away into obscurity. She just continued on with her life on her own, without you to guide her. I don′t know how many hrs she has, but I guess more than enough to stand on her own two feet by now

If I were to play Skyrim I think I would part ways with Lothran in just the same way you did with Dyan. It′s just.... I can′t.. Our journeys together aren′t over and I can feel his eagerness to roam around the Jeralls again. Hopefully as last winter with Buffy and Superian by his and Aetherius′ side ^_^

Now go, Renee! Go to Kate! :bolt:

Her game was pushing 300 hours. Since I had 2 games go A-bomb at 350-360 hours, perhaps subconsciously I was seeking a way to just avoid that whole scenario again. But even without the A-bomb, I do think I would have ended the same way.

Ha ha, poor Kate. she's all jealous.

Yea I know what you mean, you've had Lothran for a very long time it seems.
