Dyan the Paladin gets supreme gratitude.

So last night I was playing Dyan phor a'Cauz, my Lawful Good Paladin. She has a habit of http://i936.photobucket.com/albums/ad208/xenaclone/Photo-0053.jpg, reading, praying to the Nine, etc. Most of these chapel visits are uneventful, however last nite there was an unexpected guest who finally gave Dyan some good words.

I sat Dyan down on one of the chapel's front pews, then went to make a salad. When I came back ready to eat my salad, I noticed Countess Alessia Caro was sitting next to Dyan. I thought this was pretty cool. Dyan has a liking towards Alessia, as she's the only local leader who actually leaves the security of her Lleyawin castle to go see what's doing out in the Empire. Dyan also appreciates the fact that Caro is so devout to the Nine. Dyan doesn't know anything about the racist side of Caro yet, she only sees her better half.

So when I came back and saw Dyan and the Countess sitting next to one another, I knew it was a photo moment! I grabbed my cell camera and took http://i936.photobucket.com/albums/ad208/xenaclone/Photo-0052.jpg Then I got into roleplay mode and clicked on one of Caro's messages (I think it was Rumors). The Countess said this:

"In these difficult times, we must count on persons such as you to secure our borders from bandits and rabble-rousers. We all profit by your lawful pursuit of the unlawful, and we encourage you to attack, burn, loot, and destroy them wherever you can."

I thought "how awesome". Somebody actually appreciates what my character is doing out in the world of Cyrodiil. I can't really explain how happy this made me. :) But it was one of those touching moments in this game.

Renee, I have experienced the same thing before in Leyawiin. How very neat! I know that made Dyan feel good. :)

I remember when my character met an NPC in the Imperial City. She said, "I wish we could go adventuring, but we're just not as good as you are." or something along those lines.

I was a very happy Imperial. :)

Yes, I think I've run across this NPC. Whoever it is, I have a memory of hearing this while at the Waterfront District. And Renne Gade II (that's the character I was playing) finally got the feeling she had a friend after meeting this NPC. She then started to really feel at home at the Waterfront District.

I'm pretty sure we know your NPC:

Quote UESP wiki:
When approached for the first time, she will introduce herself briefly: "I'm http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Adanrel. I'm discouraged." And when asked about the Imperial City, she will explain the sad situation for herself and the other workers on the Waterfront: "Lots of us on the Waterfront are down. We can't do that dungeon stuff like you adventurers. We got no money, and no skills. Nobody wants us."

I remember her, it made me sad to here that. So what Fawkes does is anything he earned from dungeon diving he gives to the waterfront. Right now they have weeks supply of food and new dishware.

I know what you mean. Daenlin is Buffy's archery master and like a grandfather to her. When she is in Bravil, she keeps the ceramic vase she got him filled with flowers. He generally just wants to talk about the perfect arrows he doesn't have and mudcrabs, but she is happy to listen to him.

I seem to remember another NPC who praises the work we do, only she isn't gloomy like Adanrel. And when she speaks she says something more inspirational. Bah. My memory svcks, though. Could be my imagination going wild.

I forgot to mention in the OP, the coolest thing about the scene between Dyan and Alessia was that it seemed as though Alessia sat down next to Dyan at just the right moment. Like she saw Dyan sitting there, and then wanted to give her some inspiring talk! :D And when I came back with my salad, Alessia was just sitting there waiting for me to make Dyan inquisit about her presence.

After taking that shot and hearing Alessia's dialogue, I took my phone outside to send the image I just took to my e-mail before I forgot to do it later. We have poor reception in my house, see so I have to usually go outside to get a good signal. Anyways, when I came back inside and looked at the TV screen Alessia was already gone. It's as if (like I said) she chose just that moment to talk to my character, and I just happened to come back from making my salad just then. :ooo:

Isn't it awesome when you get fame, respect and recognition? I mean, it would be so nice to have my own little fan.. hmm yes, an adoring fan.

No wait.. nevermind. :ninja:

On a serious note, I think she meant that about the Black Bow Bandits.. I wish someone would give my assassin character that kinda respect. He loves attacking, burning, looting and destroying stuff (when he's angry atleast) :P

Edit: It would be funny if she said that when you had an Argonian character. I would be like; "You two-faced [censored]!"
