So I've been playing for a few days now and I've noticed that I die a lot. That in itself isn't the problem but I seem to be able to empty an entire magazine into the other person and yet they live...

I don't claim to be a pro or anything but it's just really frustrating when someone kills you in 2-3 hits but when YOU do it, it seems to take much more! It happens even when I am in armour mode...

I read somewhere that connection speed might be a contributing factor (I have 10Mb down and 1.1Mb up), is this true?

The game seems to have problem registering hits on laggers. A 300ms ping player has quite an edge on a player with 30ms ping.

This game is like the original Crysis in that high pingers have an advantage. That's why you see people trolling around foreign servers with 250 ping for easy kills.

Seems kinda opposite for me since I have a ping of 47 and everyone else has 150+ so I get high scores from them.

It makes it really easy for me.

@ OP Your connection speeds are fine. I have the same speeds. As others have mentioned, trying to get hits to register on someone with a high ping makes it more difficult. I recommend playing on a server that pings well for you and that auto-kicks those with high pings. Playing with laggers takes away from everyone's gaming experience. Try Synergy Gaming Team server, as it is set to auto-kick ping above 175.

I kinda had the same issue but got better when I started holding down the shift key while shooting. Also helps when I play in a server with a ping of less than 100, however I have been on servers with worse pings say in the 150-200 range and do ok sometimes.
The better the connection, at least for me the sooner the hits register and it helps to go for headshots and use an extended mag. At least for me and my play style that works better.

OP... the guns don't work like lasers in the game. Try burst firing or even just shooting one bullets at a time. Being able to aim right does make a difference. Trust me, you don't need to empty the whole magazine while firing full auto. Just learn to control yourself when you start shooting.

I know about burst firing and that's what I've been doing for the most part. I'm going to try and stay on low-latency servers for a bit and see if that helps.

I speculate that in stealth mode you take more dmg? Atleast thats what i experience; the dsg sniper rifle kills in 2 shots to the body but if you catch sum1 in cloak mode you kill em with 1 shot to the body. There is another reason why you could die very fast, Crysis 2 health regeneration is slower than CoD. You only start to regenerate after 5 secs of not taking any hits, and it heals for bout 30 HP per sec. So imagine this, since energy regenerates at the same rate(without Nano Recharge module) you can feel how slow it takes to recover to full energy. So take that into consideration with your health. Btw every players has 120 health and 100 energy.

I don't use stealth mode very much for that reason alone I put armour mode on my mouse button 5 because I read that you take less damage and your bullets and melee attacks do a little more. Yet, I die just as fast
