Dynamic blood effects and damage to your character and enemi

One thing I would like to see in Skyrim is a more dynamic and believable looking damage system that appears on characters (not simply dismemberment if it's in) but rather blood splatters, wounding (Bruises, etc).

In Oblivion the effect for having blood appear on your weapon and such was nice, and a step up from games without it, but the effect quickly went away (unless you modded it to stay longer) and wasn't all that dynamic after a while. After this the next game taht I noticed such a feature in was Dragon Age, which I'm sure most people here have played. In DA when you fought a battle your characters would have blood splattered onto them in various places (even their faces, etc) along with their clothing/armour. After a fight this made things look more believable and it just made your character look like they actually went through a battle.

For Skyrim I'd like to see it even go a step further. Not only having a more dynamic blood splatter onto your skin/clothing/armour/weapon, but having actual wounds appear on your body (Which if not doable dynamically on location, done via your health). So the lower your health is your character actually visually displays this. Having cuts, bruises, and wounds on his/her body.

Is this something you'd like to see? Overall I just would like to have my character actually look like you'd expect to see someone looking after they just went through a battle and were right up int he action fighting as they do.

As long as every fight doesn't end with me continuously chopping my enemy with my axe until he finally dies, leaving him with no wounds, but leaving me with a red axe that looked ridiculous.

I voted for dynamic blood, but the "simple decals" idea sounds good to me too.

I found the spatter system in Dragon Age to be a bit... odd.

"Oh, no, I just got hit by a dagger. Now I'm covered in blood!"

Yes, one of my mage characters got hit in melee and was immediately coated in blood...

I think this was already confirmed already, or something similar at least.

I have to agree there, I'd like to see that gone. Really, simple decals applied when appropiate would be pretty good, I wouldn't say this is unreasonable as games have been able to do this for a long time. In fact, even Oblivion and Fallout 3 could have blood appear on a character, it just wasn't really that noticable unless you modified the ini to increase the amount of decals and how long they stay, and even then, it was fairly basic, and didn't really create a convincing simulation of the character getting wounded in battle.

I think the problem is that as far as I can tell, it doesn't actually apply blood decals to the area where you get hit, or even to any specific area on your body. rather, it seems that it adds blood onto the entire body of the character in question, making it look like you just got rained on with blood or something.

I don't recall anything being mentioned about blood and wounds on character models. I know there's one screenshot showing blood on the player's sword, but that's not so impressive when you consider that Oblivion could do that too. The troll in the screenshot on the other hand actually looks pretty unharmed to me, though maybe the blood was from an already defeated enemy that's not visible in the screenshot.
