Dynamich bodies?

I think it is really unrealistic that every man and woman have the same model unaffected by age, stats and so on. And I wonder what the forum thinks.

No. If I have created a character body I'm satisfied with I don't want the game ruining it.

If it done properly - for starters different races should be affected differently - an Altmer should look pretty slim even with 100 str. (kind of gymnast type of build) While an orc for example should look really buff (weightlifter type) with human races leaning to one or the other - bretons more slim, nords easier buffed. Other things should be taken in to account to. But I wouldn't want a simple straight forward universal stat affecting morphs (fable style).

It's an interesting idea, but I don't think it could work because we all start out with very low stats.

If there are different body types, I would prefer to make these manual sliders as part of the character creation menu (or probably end up using new meshes created by modders), rather than not wanting to have strength increase too much if I don't want a female character to look like a tranny, for example.

This is how I feel about it. If they did implement this though I would want it to be more like what @Sshodan suggested. I hated it in Fable.

Is the "h" a typo or a misspelling?

I personally say "no". One of the problems I had with Fable 2 was that if I played as a female character I'd have to avoid leveling up strength because I didn't want her to end up looking muscle-bound like Hammer at the end. I suppose if it were subtler than that I might not mind as much but it ultimately feels unnecessary. If you want your character to look muscular there should be a slider for that, if you want them to look fat-sure there could be a slider for that as well (not sure how realistic having a fat character going around saving the world would be-but hey this is a fantasy game).

Strength dictates muscles, agility dictates fat. So if I had 100 in both, my character would be really fit. If I had 100 in strength and 30 in agility on the other hand, he'd have lots of muscles but still a lot of fat too. Agility doesn't directly affect fatness however, but relies on the strength:agility ratio. So when my character starts the game (and has maybe 20 in Strength and 15 in agility), he's kind of skinny but still not fat. Could be appropriate considering you're starting in a dungeon.

There shouldn't be any racial difference (except for beast races). The only racial difference is how tall you are. It should differ a little bit between genders however.

He seams to be talking more about how everyone in the game has the same character model for their body and how its unrealistic. I think he miss named the thread.

No, I don't want to become a big hulking mass of veiny muscle because I use a sword like in Fable.

It's the sort of thing which sounds like a nice idea but would get a bit annoying. If I created a thief, and I wanted him to have a high carrying capacity I would put his strength up. But then he'd start looking like a ripped barbarian, and thoroughly un-thief like...

EDIT: Not that you'll choose attributes in TESV... but you get my point. It's not as controllable as I'd like.

Certainly not... I don't want the stats to affect how I look at ALL. I want my character to look like how I created it at the beginning of the game.

Nope. I think we should have the option to customize some things in the beginning, and then your body would stay how you made it.

I agree the NPCs in the world need more variety in terms of body, but I don't want to get fat or something because I've eaten too much ham.

What I'd like to see is you build your character body the way you like it.. and then the game alters it depending on your stats. So say you build a great big muscular body .. the game will alter it so that if/when you do get your stats up that would be the end result. You'd still start off looking the weakling but you kind of know what your building towards in all areas. That way if you didn't want a female character looking like Lou Ferrigno by the end of the game you'd simply design her at the beginning to not look like that. Basically a beginning stat/end stat look that you build at character creation.

No, it annoyed me in Fable that if i made a girl and raised all of her stats she looked like The Hulk.

If you mean npcs bodies are changed because of their stats, then yes, but if the pc has the same thing then no, i voted yes because after re-reading your post it sounds like the first one, but like someone above said, if you want a thin mage or thief character you wouldnt be able to have high carrying capacity without being a body builder. (if its the same as oblivion, which i dont think it is from the info so far)

I don't think he means the PC guys, but the NPCs. It would be nice if you could customize your character and still have variety among the other people in the world.

Other.

No, I'd rather not have my stats affect my personal, player character's appearance. I already spend hours, days even, designing my characters, so if something tampers with that and it ends up ruining my work, I will be an unhappy camper.

However, I would like to see NPCs designed with their statistics in mind. It doesn't need to be dynamic necessarily, just that an NPC appears to be what they are: a farmer will look like he can work, a scholar will be thin and gangly (or not, depending on individual factors), burlesque dancers will be attractive, and so on. What I'd like to see even more is NPCs with personality and individuality. There should be just as many exceptions to the rule as adherents where applicable. My thin scholar example might actually be overweight, depending on his or her tendencies and individual metabolism. The dancers might not be subject to as much change, since their job is to entice others, as opposed to being largely self-serving.

Sense, does this make?

Hmm, haven't played it : was it so unsubtle ? I mean, it is quite possible to be strong yet wiry.

Yes if it was extremely well done, combination of parameters making it realistic ; no need to bother otherwise. Not if it means the ole Imperial gal is on stero?ds. -_-

I definitely don't want a straight stat-based appearance. Just because I raised my thief's Strength to 100 doesn't mean I want him to look like a hulking oaf.

Well, strenght is not how massive you are. massive guys usually are strong, but being strong doesn't imply to be massive.
Look at shaolin monks for example, these guys are thin. But look at their muscles, sharp as razor blades, rock hard.

So yea, maybe a tiny change in the skin texture to show that your muscles are in good shape with high strength for example. But I don't want my character to be changed into hulk that's for sure. Fable was ridiculous.

It has been confirmed that we can change what our PC's body will look like during character creation. That said, I don't want my character to turn fat, think, hulk, or bulk due to a dependence on stats.

Incidentally, just re-took a look at that guy on the GI art, with the helmet with horns and sword on naked back, page 52. Ever seen a non-orc char that bulky ? Think it's just the "customizable body" thing at the beginning, though.
