Eager or reluctant hero?

Post » Sat Oct 15, 2011 12:01 am

My characters only goal is to die in glorious battle to seek redemption and regain his honour, but he would never enter battle without the goal of winning, and what better way to die then in a battle with a god? and if he happens to win then he saves the world xD

Dovahkin is not reluctant, his very soul calls him to glory. Destiny Awaits!

Reluctant hero all the way, my first character has other things on her plate so it will be intresting to see when I get round to actually following the MQ. It does depend how the game starts and what exactly happens to you as you explore Skyrim.

My character won't really care all that much. He will simply save the world because if the dragons destroy it then he won't be able to kill anyone himself anymore.

Reluctant hero. He`ll kill any Dragons that get in the way but mostly will be too busy having fun playing factions against each other, while making money from contract killings and pilfering any shiny things he comes across.

My character will Be a Hero when needed to be whatever destiny holds for his path.

My characters motivation for stopping Alduin is a sense of duty to his homeland and to protect his family. Cliché, I know.

At first she'll be reluctant; focus only on her studies in the Mage's Guild, and advancement in her craft... But as the importance of her heritage dawns upon her; and she becomes aware of the potential power she may acquire, she becomes more interested in events outside her guild.

Neither I guess. I think it is a bit odd to look forward to it yet at the same time I hate people who [censored] and whine about their responsibilities.

You know, this poll is proof that people aren't basically good.

:P

I disagree. A reluctant hero doesn't mean someone isn't moral. It's a question of having the weight of the world on your shoulders.

I'm not in any way religious (I think it's all nonsense), but by way of example you could say that Jesus in the Bible was a reluctant hero (I can't believe I just wrote that, this is genuinely not a "so turn to Jesus" post, I couldn't discourage anyone from that more).

Being told you have to face a world ending event on your own, and only you can stop it would be a difficult thing to take

Reluctant and evasive of his "destiny", unless he gets married and his wife becomes dragon food, in which case he becomes rather motivated.

My evil Mage will be incredibly reluctant. But after finding out that he can increase his power and learn special arcane abilities through these beasts, he'll be more interested in getting involved. So he doesn't look at it as "saving the world" he sees it as increasing his power. If he saves the world in the process great, but it doesn't not concern him either way.

LOL! I think the results are interesting and shows that people want to spend time experiencing the game rather than "beating" it. Makes me wonder if we even need a MQ if we have a huge world with lots of stuff to do!
