Early unfinished version of Crysis 2 appears on Torrent site

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 7:50 am

I am extremely dissapointed to hear this.I wanted you to know that the entire PC gaming community will support you in this crysis that has befallen you.I sincerely hope you catch the son of a bich who did this and sue his ass to oblivion or throw him to the most nightmarish jail possible.I hope the final game is not delayed by this current predicament.Even if it did I fully support your decision and will patinetly wait for the game to release.I also plead to the gaming community not to disclose any plot details in the forums.Godspeed.

Sincerely
EXILDMAN

I never preorder games(not even the ones I love) but from the combo of feeling bad for crytek, seeing some epic gameplay, and the fact that Crysis is one of my favorite series already, I will preorder this game.

Hope all goes well for you in the end Crytek. Who knows, this might end up giving you guys a bigger profit :)

EA have not done anything here.I seriously dont know how you can you even suggest piracy when Crytek have put in 4 years of work on this Biblical game?

I don't think it was intentional EA has always been butthurt about copyrights with their DRMs and stuff. While in fact from the reaction I've seen from p2p forums tons of people say they love this game are are looking forward for the final product and will buy it. This leak will probably boost their sales. Irony

Where in my post have I condoned piracy? I am saying it's a marketing ploy...god...you aren't getting it. This was done on purpose to boost preorder sales. I am pretty damn sure the preorders have skyrocketed after this story broke through.

Bullseye ;). You got it!
But EA/Crytek will try and deny that the game was intentionally "leaked" will blame it on some hacker which never existed.

Well, I dont think it was intentional. I think it was an accident from an employee. Kinda like how they released the Pier 17 for one night on the xbox beta. But I think this accident will be beneficial to Crytek in the end(hopefully).

Instead of speculating among ourselves

Incase you are wondering I've already got mine preordered...ages ago
From play-sc.com

As for the damage it's not going to do any damage at all...

But count the number of people who have said they are going to pre-order? Sure it's speculation at best that not all might but it's still a potential sale isn't it? It's viral marketing at it's best.

Actually, there are two variants. Either someone from Crytek intentionally leaked the unfinished product OR as some of you stated it's a marketing ploy to presumably boost the sales by giving the people a free Crysis product. Well I'd more likely go with the first variant since there is a LEGAL and more SENSIBLE way of showing your product for a small amount of time to the public: DEMO. Doesn't anyone understand that? The demo is just for that: Show a little bit of the ORIGINAL product of the game to the public. So, from what I've said, why leak some unfinished Crysis version?

Because PC platform is thought to be the pirating capital of the world.

Something like this happens, it's always bad.

But really, **** happens unfortunately, and unless there is some sort of operation going on in Crytek, then lets just continue living our lives normally. I eagerly await more news on a demo. And yes, I most likely will buy the game on release (Although I made a mistake like that when I brought other games that ended up horrible).

But I support you Crytek. :)

Half Life 2 would have come out A LOT better if that one douche didnt hack it. More weapons, enemies, etc.

Yes the HL2 code was stolen so valve delayed the game for a year.

Theft/crime is everywhere.

Very sorry to hear this EA and Crytek, maybe you should delay the PC version?.

In the end he made them look back at their game and they decided to pretty much re-make it, but better.

Sure it got delayed a year (or two?) but the game came out much better because of it imo.
