I'll be waiting for the final release myself. I want my first experience playing this game to be free of glitches and have maxed out graphics with directx11. THATS the way this game should be played. Also my conscious will be clear because I will know i payed for it. This is still dissapointing to me though.

Xbox360 games get pirated just as bad as PC games, go see for yourself at a torrent site. I wish developers would realise this. Instead of putting all the shame in PC gaming, they should really open their eyes.

The Xbox360 is then praised as the platform of choice for developers to demo games on at big events. Take Crysis2 for instance.

I saw leaked footage and was very impressed, so I preorderd it.
I dont think will hurt the purchase numbers, rather increase them because of the awesomeness of the game.

Funny, because my ultimate Crysis experience didn't come but after the release of the Advanced A.I. patch of the community, which goes to show that a company can do really many things right and still fck the main thing in a game.

Crytek are lucky that the whole storyline hasn't come out yet. Sure, the leaked version wont have all the nice graphics but it still has the complete story in it :(

It's really disappointing that someone would do this... It has to have been an inside job, considering that a developer build was leaked...

So the only footage we get is from an early January pc build that is not the
Final release and you are saying we can help by preordering. Why not tell us whether
or not there will be dx11, modified servers, editor.Show some footage at max settings. No, you will be tight lipped but want me to give you my money on faith. I am huge crysis fan, but I will wait until reviews hit thanks. Next time maybe politely ask your customers to buy upon release rather than preorder when you have not shown them any reason to(outside of what you say is not a final product)

Piracy continues to damage the PC development community.
Yes, because a pirate walked in to a crytek studio, and took it.

Exellent points you're making here, kudos my man.

I for myself tend to think also the darker side of a marketing mind. In efforts to make everything they can, this leak could be just a publicity stunt. Piracy its a working horse for everybody with the right frame set of the mind.

At least there is some way of seeing how the game looks on PC... even if it's unfinished. I am not getting the pirated version.. I'll wait for that demo. But seriously Crytek, you need to start showing us footage of Crysis 2 on the PC and tell us when we get the damn demo we've been waiting for.

You shaft your loyal PC community that has been waiting for three years for this game by not showing any proper footage, and barly sharing any details. I was happy to see dedicated servers, but it also pissed me off that we can't host them ourselves.

Then you tell us there wil be a PC demo, and poof you go silent about it. and after 170 pages of a thread asking where it is you simply shut the thread down. You could at least have given us an explanation to why you were so quiet, be honest with the people who are happily giving you money.

This build isn't close to what the full game would've been. But from what I saw in the 360 demo I don't even want to see the full game.

Oh and ye totally go blame the PC community, ya... totally not the guy who leaked the builds fault... Thanks alot for another backstab.

Good riddance.

Piracy continues to damage the PC development community.

So much ignorance in a few words is hard to come by mate . I had to register and post my view on the subject , i find the phrase above deeply offensive and insulting to ones intelligence considering the circumstances .

I hope you do not represent the EA or Crytek in any way or fashion b/c that would mean you guys have no clue whatsoever around the office .

I do pray some day you all stop making games for PC so the rampant piracy spreads amongst the console users at an exponential rate , way way higher then anything the PC crowd has ever encountered. And you know why ? B/c the number of console gamers is 50 times higher then their PC counterparts .

PS : From 16 gamer friends i have at this moment 12 are huge console buffs , mainly XboX360 , ALL moded . Not- a- single- one -legit . Soon around 4 of them will buy PS3 too.

PPS : Like others have said above me , a pirate/hacker/torrent abuser/thief -harr harr- walked into your Studios and stole the Beta-testing-w/e copy amairait ?

PPPS : I`m still waiting for my refund after the last time i got baited into buying a Quad Core CPU after your whole marketing department was raging all over the net about the "humongous"(sic!) increase in performance such a CPU would give ones PC running Crysis1 . Boy i got punked on that one silly lie wasn`t i .

Seeing how it was the PC version leaked, they are talking about the impact on PC titles, not consoles. Also, since you seem to know so much on the subject, what good can actually come from stealing games?

Why Crytek doesn't make anything against those who downloaded this version?Relax, but I am increasingly convinced that this was a move (very clever by the way) on the part of Crytek ... you do not find it strange that almost no information to PC? no demo, no beta, no ingame videos, very few screens and those who had seemed retouched ... no information that would support DX11 if, and at what level ... where was the Tesselacion?

Also, being a build of January 13 is very strange that no DX10 or DX11 take ... perhaps in only 2 months they were going to implement??
Nooooo, it Crytek with every intention of raising even more the hype from the PC community was that leaked the beta ... is more, at the end of your release send a subliminal message:

"Piracy Continues to damage the PC Development Community."

No smells inviting them politely to buy the game??

With all the game seems very "consolizado" and limited as to what it was 1, I sincerely hope that your move will result, so that we may see a 3 on PC Crysis ... So sure, I hope to return next give priority to their roots, and not another rea$on.

First piracy is noft theft, it's a copyright infringement. Second there are numerous studys of how pirates also spend more on the products they purchase. Here's a recent Japanes goverments study how the piracy works for anime-dvd sales as aboost, dunno how that correlates to games, but i'll get back to on that you as soon as I'll get through my notes.

Well halo reach and black ops leaked on consoles too, so saying that " piracy kills the pc development " is like hearing the guy from epic saying why we moved to consoles when the real excuse was they wanted to make money in the console buiseness .Its crytek's fault that their security is an epic failure and also think its an entirely build with the master key .These things show that this was an inside job so stop saying piracy and get that guy that stole the files.

sofmisfortune:

NVIDIA confirmed that there would be directx11, Crytek revealed that there will be dedicated servers ( if that's what you mean by modified servers) and there will more than likely be an editor. And did you ever stop to think that since this is Crytek's first multiplatform release that they may have to get the appeal of the console crowd? It's pretty much a no-brainer that Crysis 2 would be excepted by PC gamers that were fans of the previous games. In the mean time learn to scrounge around for information rather than assume it hasn't been revealed.

I'm thinking more and more that this is a conspiracy and Crytek is going the way of Epic blaming piracy in order to support the PC less and less and give us **** console ports
