It wasnt a hacker, it was probably a inside job unless some guy strolled into Crytek Offices and hosted them on a server.

It was probably an inside job as the person before me stated. It's a developmental build, and according to a poster on Facepunch, Johnmichael Quinlan's name is written over a bunch of files (the Senior Tools Programmer at Crytek).

Why are people feeling bad for Crytek/EA, they will make even more money from sales because everyone finds the beta awesome and will buy the game and if they do get to sue someone they will make even more money, I'd say that's a pretty tight deal.

It's better Crytek impress us with the final Crysis 2.

Well, I personally am not impressed by the "leak". Crysis 1 and Wars is better. Still waiting on a demo.

I believe that the leaked "demo" is helping boost sales. Seeing those HQ screenshots from the PC build made me change my mind and i am 100% going to buy this game. I hope Crytek doesnt lose faith in the PC community and continue supporting them.

Im buying it for singleplayer and modding if the multiplayer won't feel right .

Im a longtime fan of crysis and i know the game's great and developers are really passionate about the whole thing , but this is what forces them to go for consoles , it's SAD it's SO FKING sad it happens to the best PC developer.

Too late.I have a really bad felling about this.I hate to speculate, but these things could happen:
1)They scrap Crysis 2,work on a new story and release 2 years later.
2)They might delay the game by 2 or more months.
3)They might stop supporting the PC community, and Crysis3 title could be console exclusive.
4)Thy might(MIGHT) relase the game on time, with major changes.
5)The situation is not serious as we think it to be,and hopefully they had a backup plan.

Man I dont know whats's the situation in Crytek.I really fell sorry for Cevat and Co.I sincerely hope the game releases on time.DAMN PIRATES.DAMN

Well, it may not be as bad as we think it is. The "demo" serves as a benchmark for the PCs and CE3 was said to be less resource hog than CE2. More sales could be generated from the PC owners. The leak seems to be right on time because there isn't any official demo released for PC yet and it shows the full glory of CE3 on PC. However, the leak also proves that the game could be heavily pirated when released and Crytek may not fully support the PC community for Crysis 2 and future Crysis games.

i personally think it's pretty lame downloading and playing that leak... i won't spoil the storyline because a crappy beta with a lots of bugs, placeholders and features locked (like dx11), keeping in mind that the polished game would be out in a little more than a month. i hope that crytek don't delay the game, i think that the most critical thing is the master key, the game leak is not that bad, doesn't hurts sells, improves it instead because the pc gamers look that its going to be awesome when it's being released

sorry by my english btw

Its not good. I heard that an online pass was also in with the leak.

C3 may very well be console exclusive... Specially if its for next gen consoles...

If that becomes true then I will be so sad :(.

Okay my bad. The full glory of CE3 in DX9 on PC. Still, it looks good on DX9. The thing is, the leak only proved that it is less resource hog and it works smoothly on current gen graphic cards in high settings. We don't know how much it will affect the sales and therefore leak should not be viewed negatively. Starcraft 2 was heavily pirated but the sales generated was enormous. Same for Sims 3 and COD black ops. If a game is good, it will turn pirates into faithful consumers.

Seriously speaking,I have no idea how Cevat Yerli is going to react to this. And I would be damn afraid to go anywhere near him.Crysis franchise was Cevat's baby.He created and nurtured it.I have no idea how someone could backstab the company they are working in.If Crytek abandons the Pc platform and go console exclusive I wouldnt be surprised.

Damn pirates would have eventually gotten the full version anyway. Crytek can't put all the blame on the PC community though. Only an insider could have uploaded a full developer build.

Anyone that wanted to buy this game won't change their mind because some idiot decided to leak an unfinished release. Although Crytek should probably explain that the leak is DX9 to the less informed communities. I'm seeing a lot of complaints and confusion about the graphical quality. Explaining that the leak only had DX9 would keep some people from deciding not to buy because they think the beta can represent the graphical capabilities of the full version.

Also, they still have a month. They can easily implement a new security measure that doesn't use the leaked masterkey.

As a long time fan and supporter of Crytek, its my duty to protect the reputation of the company and the games they produce.we should support the company we came to know and love in this time of crysis(no pun intended)instead of arguing among ourselves.
