Easier damage FNV?

Post » Mon Oct 18, 2010 12:46 am

So I've been watching the previews, demos, and creator vids on the internet. The one big thing I'm noticing(besides all the awesome new stuff) is how easily the AI's are dying when shot. You can see for yourself on any of the NV videos. There appears to be a realistic death concept. It's of course possible that it's just for show, but it'd be nice if I could shoot a raider in the head 5 times, and kill him on the first. Any thoughts, comments?

Probably just a high-level character. My FO3 Energy Weapons guy 1hits Enclave Troopers with plasma rifle headshots on Normal; I imagine it's a very similar case here.

Some will actually be harder to kill because of the use of Damage Threshold. Basically, if your weapon doesn't do more damage than what their DT protects against then you won't do much to them. So no killing power armored soldiers with a kitchen knife.

Well, in things like the E3 footage, the PC has been high level, had some of the best guns, a crapload of ammo, etc. And the difficulty was probably really low.

The probably used hacked PC with high level and buffed up stats do that no game presenter dies ingame while playing and showing the overall looks of the game.

They have maxed stats and are on very easy difficulty, this is standard when show-casing games.

I hope that is how it is. I always played on easy or very easy on Fallout 3 after getting tired of playing Very Hard and wasting 5-10 magazines on a supermutant. But, on very easy my player was a bullet-soaking god. They need to add a difficulty like Very Easy, Easy, Normal, Balanced (in which you are able to take slightly higher damage than your enemies with their Easy health), Hard, and Very Hard, with the hardcoe counter-parts.

Best thing I can think of is realism and the fact that most of the enemies we have seen in gameplay videos are generally not wearing anything heavier than cloth type armors, I think once we get our hands upon the game and run into some folks with some heavy armor we'll all probably be singing a different tune about how easily one can fell enemies. :tops:
