Mindless brutes without any kind of leadership VS an organized army with actually intelligent leaders :shakehead:

Lesse, West Coast muties have better weapons... stealth-boys... and are organized... the only problem for the west-coast super muties is the battle-cattle... fear the battle-cattle.

Beware the battle-cattle, but do not fear the battle-cattle.

Besides, only the nightkin has to beware them and they are completely nuts. I could see muties like Marcus and Neil leading them.

Fawkes was imprisoned by other super mutants so he's quite unlike leader. I doubt one guy is enough to turn them into an effective fighting force.

At their prime, Master Army is organize and a force to be reckon with. Many years later, those who understand that the army is done, they are all but retired but manage to integrated into society quite well, though racism still exist.

The East Coast Super Mutants are just mindless brutes to serve as something to kill.

What about Fawkes and Unlce Leo

I always see them as "because they are not evil like the resident Super Mutant, that mean they are awesome and strong!" mentality. In a way, I don't like it.

Well the west coast mutants are on average more intelligent, better equipped, and more organized... however by 2281 they're dwindling in number. I guess it all depends on the era, during the time of the Master it would be no contest; the Unity would wipe the floor with the Capital Wasteland Super Mutants. By 2281 though, I think it's debatable.

West Coast Super Mutants:

-They have the equipment and the best leadership (Marcus and Keene)
- Their Nightkin can run more faster than the average Super Mutant

But

After the defeat of The Master, they numbers began to decreased very fast
The Nightkin even with a cure, they still can suffer of schizofrenia, and that can end in a bloody mess of friendly fire and madness
If Marcus or Keene get killed, Their morals gonna be devastated

The East Coast Super Mutants:

They know about guerrilla tactics
They have Giant Behemots
Looks like that their productions never stop

But

They dont have a strong leadership (And thats can makes a great difference in the battlefield)

To be a fair fight, it has to be during their prime on both. Master's Army 2161 vs. Vault 87 2277. It'd be like taking a .50 Caliber Sniper Rifle (Anti-Material Rifle) to a fist-fight.

In 2281...Debatable.

I wouldn't call 2277 their high point. The Brotherhood has been fighting them for years now, and it sounds as though they've made progress cleaning up DC. So probably some point before Lyons made it there.

Mariposa would win in either case. Remember that there's super mutants back in California too.

The west coast mutants are almost extinct. The east however is a much bigger threat.

Based on what? The master made armies of Mutants. Vault 87 is out of FEV and there was not that many of them made based on how they are only in the DC area around vault 87. DC mutants become bigger and even dumber as they age.

It would be good if we stop calling them East Coast Mutants because they are only found in DC while West Coast mutants can be found throughout he core region and all the way to Kansas.

Well there are only a few mutants in New Vegas so I thought that there are a few of them left??? At the Capital Wasteland; you'll run into the Mutants more often then anything else.

Fair enough. There seems to be only a small number of peacefull mutants left in the Mojave area but entire armies moved as far as Kansas. Mutants of the master moved all over but they would all be old. Still they do move around. DC ones don't and they just get bigger and dumber as they age.
