Hunting Giant Radscorps is always worth a couple of levels. There are tons in game straight from level 1. Just need the right gun. Like 40MM Grenade Rifle with Incinderary Rounds.

A couple of quest lines give a lot of xp at the end, like e.g.

doing all the quests for the King (including Rex).
Or doing the questline for a minor faction (Followers, etc.)

That's what I do. Hunt ghouls. Go for the head shot with criticals.

Just play the game?

Seriously I installed a mod to adjust leveling speed on the first day I played. It's quite easy to level, do a few quest, kill wander the waste and kill some creatures.

Take Swift Learner, kill lots of enemies, complete lots of quests. Do Swift Learner and Well Rested stack? If so, get the room in Novac.

If you're asking for an exploit, I think they have all been patched.

People on XBox can do this --

Spoiler
In Dead Money you get experience for dying. Honest. If you have a companion you get experience for both of you dying. It's a chore and not really worth the bother, but just find a radio, save and go get your head exploded. You'll get XP. Save, then go and die again. Over and over and over...

I think you said you were on PS3, though, so that doesn't help you.

That's nutz

I wonder if it was meant to be subtracted instead of added?

Dunno. I sort of had a feeling it was something in the way of an (unnecessary) apology

To my shame, I used the exploit once to level, but I was really, really close.

Plus, exploding head, over and over.

I try to avoid XP so this is a great thread. I know Cazadors are worth 50 pts. I avoid hacking safes or opening locked doors if possible. Staying out in the Wasteland usually means you have to kill more enemies and those are points. I love it out there more than the city though. I've gone for high sneak this time so have been able to avoid fighting as much. It's just the other side of the coin. :)

Ants and a sniper rifle. You can kill a bunch real fast and they are all near each other.
