Where's a good location to find Ebony Ore and/or Ebony Bars? Looking to improve my Ebony Dagger.

I buy them in Whiterun. Both the smith for the companions and the one by the city entrance sell them. If they don't, just wait 48 hours and they'll restock. I think they cost 300-400 gold.

Red belly mine in Shor's Stone has some ebony ore in it and you can find some ingots in the town as well.

Yeah my favorite place is Gloombound mine. It's South-East of Windhelm, in the side of a mountain range. Next to it is a wooden palisade that you find out is an Orc village/stronghold. You can do a quest for them to let you inside and offer you services, but you can walk around the edge of the fort to get to the mine and go inside to harvest stuff without anything more dangerous than dirty looks and threatening comments from the Orc miners inside.

The Shrine of Mehrunes Dagon also has a couple of Ebony Ingots, along with Dremora to kill for Daedra Hearts, if you're interested in crafting Daedric equipment. Along with this, Blacksmiths start to sell Ebony Ingots with increased frequency when you're a higher level.

I hit this mine and walked out with 32 Ebony Ore.

Throat of the world has 48 ore at the peak,enough for 24 ingots.

why would you want to have ebony bars when you can get chocolate bars?
