Ebony Warrior vs. Glass Warrior... an Experiment!

Post » Tue Jul 16, 2013 5:11 pm

So... I'm bored and decided to try a little experiment out. The subject of Heavy armor vs Light armor is very much subjective as the armor cap can be achieved for both ultimately. That, and personal opinions, tastes, role-plays, etc. all factor in the decision for the individual.

Anyway, I wanted to pit the Ebony Warrior against a tough opponent, and decided to make a counter-part worthy of the ordeal...

Yes, it's a bosmer.

The most bad-ass Bosmer in Skyrim

http://i.imgur.com/tSlTlhu.jpg

You can see his height in comparison to a Nord and a Spriggan Earth Mother. He's shorter than the Ebony Warrior in the same exact respective way that a male Bosmer is shorter than a Redgaurd male. But he's taller than an Altmer(lol supremacy) and a Dremora.

Testing him out...

Why Bosmer? Because I want to see a 8'7ft Wood Elf kick some ass, that's why. Not Altmer because they're already tall and have had their share of bad-ass warriors, and not Dunmer because they were and still pretty much are more overrated than Nords. So, Wood Elf avatar of Trinnimac it is. Deal with it.

Rundown:

As you can see, he's not a carbon copy with different armor. I changed some of the spells around. So instead of frost cloak, he uses lightning. I also removed the heavy armor perks, and replaced them with their exact Light armor counter-parts. The weapon and armor enchantments are the EXACT same. The vanilla leveled list does not have an 05 variant of enchantments for Glass as it does for Ebony. If the Ebony Warrior wins 5 out of 5 rounds, I will create an exact replica of the 05 ranked enchantments for Glass to try and compensate. This will prove real interesting with the Ebony Warrior's "reflect blows" vs. the Glass Warrior's "deft movement"

Reflect Blows: 10% chance to reflect melee damage back to the enemy while wearing all Heavy Armor: head, chest, hands, feet.

VS.

Deft Movement: 10% chance of avoiding all damage from a melee attack while wearing a matched set of Light Armor.

Also... The Ebony Warrior is supposed to summon Storm Atronachs in battle. what prevents him, ironically, is the "elemental potency" perk... It's bugged with everyone, and it's clear that - as usual - Bethesda needs to hire better testers who actually TEST.

I removed elemental potency, and now the Ebony Warrior summons Storm atronachs as he should. To spice things up, I gave the Glass Warrior the ability to summon Flame Atronachs as they serve the same utility(range support).

As you can see in those pics, I did some preliminary testing with the Glass Warrior against the unfortunate wild-life resting in a grove I just happened to decide to CHIM spawn him in. The Spriggan Earth Mother and three bears proved no match.

I then went further and spawned 5 Draugr Death Overlords(3 one-handed, 2 twohanded), and like his Ebony counter-part, the Glass Warrior wiped the floor with them. He looks promising.

I'm open to comments and suggestions. locations, scenarios, whatever, lay it on me. I unfortunately do not have access to recording equipment, but I'm sure many of you have seen my pics, and know that I take adequate pics to give an acceptable idea of the show-down.

Please share your thoughts. If you would like me to make any changes/additions to the Glass Warrior's spells/perks/stats/whatever, or you have any suggestions, do share. I will consider them.

*Do not turn this into a civil war debate, or a 500 companion/Night of Tears debate, or whatever else could possibly de-rail this thread. Feel fee to talk about the Ebony Warrior, and/or come up with crazy lore theories on who the Glass Warrior could be. I will begin the first batch of rounds tomorrow.

EW for sure. All GW has to do is hit the EW once, Reflect Blows will do the rest.

If the Glass Warrior could hit 500 damage per hit, maybe. Reflect blows is not an "I win" decider, and deft movement has an exact equal chance of the Ebony Warrior doing ZERO damage to the Glass Warrior.

It's his great great grandson, lol.

Wouldn't the ebony warrior win due to ebony weapons being better then glass?

Not Gaenor! Either way, my money's on the Ebony Warrior. The only thing that kept me from killing him was that reflect damage ability. It's...just so powerful.

But he has some of that luck. He'll dodge every 8/9 out of ten hits on average.

The Raven of Death likes to side with the underdog.

So the glass warrior. Though I do prefer heavy armor.

It'll be hard with light armor against the Ebony Warrior. Only time and fate will tell though...

if Glass Weapon attacks an Ebony Mail and it gets Reflected, will Deft Movement be able to dodge it, Inception style?

:shocking:

It actually might. It will if it the deflection counts as a "melee" strike. Deft movement can "dodge" arrow damage too, so I wouldn't be surprised.

Then I'll go with Glass Warrior

Also, you need to do Dragonplate Warrior and Dragonbone Warrior, give both the ability to summon Durnehviir, and go to town

I've already made a Dragonscale Warrior in case the Glass Warrior can't trump the Ebony Warrior. I'll make a Durnehviir summoning version and a DragonPlate Warrior too...

I was actually thinking of doing this for all the other armors too: Dwarven, Orchish, etc. lol. Put them all in one giant free-for-all that will likely trigger the end of the world by themselves.

Now look what you did. I already have absurd, crazy ideas, and now you just gave me another one!

I should make this a tournament...

Oh, a tournament. Hrafna could make some posters for this.

She's a very artistic woman.

Maybe some of her undead friends could make some flyers aswell...

I'll throw in some Draugr in between waves for bonus rounds or something... Maybe Hevnoraak will even pay a visit...

If anyone has suggestions for a location, do share! I'm all ears for people's suggestions on any of this.

I was going to say the vale but that is a place of peace. Blackreach got alot of space, and the scenery looks nice.

But it may be a bit too dark.

No, but it definitely helps.

You look at an 8 foot Bosmer, and you tell me that's not bad-ass!

Blackreach would be too dark.

Forgotten Vale has the frozen lake... That's more than enough empty even space for a fair match... hmmmm.

If he is an 8 foot awkward Bosmer, it's not badass no.

You don't like my Glass Warrior?

What's the matter? You can't stand the sight of a strong, tall Wood elf?
