hey, i'm looking to upgrade my gear for the next main quest dungeon, i was looking at this guide from the UESP http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Arena:Base_Weapons
it apparently tells me what equipment store i should look at in order to find the gear i'm looking for, lets say i'm going to buy the Ebony long sword at Arenthia in Valenwood, but when i arrive
at the store the weapon is not for sale, is it some kind of level cap i'm not aware of?

I've never encountered such a level cap. That guide has proven useful before. Either it's wrong in this instance, there's something up with your game, you went the wrong shop or your character can't use longswords, but I'm sure you'd have noticed the latter two by now. I would recommend settling for a different high end weapon or trying another listed shop.

I don't believe Arena's loot discriminates based on your level. My last character found an Ebony Longsword in the starter dungeon.

I thought stores sold all types of equipment regardless of your class though, unless I'm just thinking of dungeon loot. Because I'm almost certain I've come into possession of items my character can't use before.

well, i've checked three stores that are supposed to sell the item, but none of them have it, anyway i'm playing a knight so i'm definitely able to equip it. the reason i'm thinking level cap, is because all the stores sell lower version of the item, like an elven longsword, but nothing higher. thanks for the replays.
