Editing Meshes in Nifskope

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 9:59 am

Hello.

I'm trying to edit the mesh of an existing .nif file. Basically I want to delete a belt that is within the same mesh as the top. How do I delete just these triangles? I know it's part of the NiTriStripsData. I can locate the points and vertices, but how do I delete them? Do I have to change the value to 0 or something. Refer to the pictures below. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Basically I like the look of some of the HGEC armors, but I hate that they all just have underwear on. I want to copy over armor greaves, but this belt keeps clipping through the Branch I paste over..

Well, while I know it "can" be done by hand the most tedious way one could think of in NifSkope (and I don't even know how), I personally would do this task in Blender or a different modelling tool.
NifSkope is easy to copy&paste seperate meshes around and combine them to something new... however, when it comes to "altering" a mesh itself, I prefer doing that in Blender.

Sometimes you can simply r-click on the offending bit and select "remove branch", then resave the nif, but in this case, it would also delete the cuirass. I think it's time to fire up Blender.
