Editions

Hello. It's me once again. I am not sure but do you think they should have special editions? Does anyone know if there's going to be any?

Not sure if there's gonna be a "Premium" Edition, if they announce one, I'll get it for sure.
A collectors edition is pretty much guaranteed, they haven't announced it but Oblivion had one, so it's a big possibility there's one.

So I'm getting the Premium, and if there's a GOTY edition in a couple of years, I'll get it too :)

I'm sure there will be a CE, but i'm not expecting an announcement until after E3. Probably late Summer, around Quakecon.

I will put that in. Collectors edition. :)

By the way, what would be the one that has the most items? Not sure.

I don't know. I want some type of special edition, but I'm not sure which and I won't decide on any version until I get some information on them.

I really hope they don't pull some "Pre-order to get a bonus sword!" crap.

I hope they're not total douches like Epic Games and Gears of War 3, they released 3 types of pre-orders: Standard, Collectors, and Epic Edition the last going for 150, and they haven't released any detail on what the editions include...

That must svck. I'd be fine with just the normal edition, if that were the case, though.

Why would anyone pay $150 for an edition they know nothing about?

I'm very devoted to Skyrim and anything Bethesda... so much so that I will unquestionably pre-order their in-house games with barely a thought. That is unusual, for me, as I always love to meticulously research products (such as games) before buying them, but even I would not put down $150 for a version of Skyrim I know nothing about.

Me too. No doubt. I'd pay $150 for just the standard edition of Skyrim.

But, you answered your own question.

No, I meant that I'd instantly pre-order a $60 version of any Bethesda game with barely a thought (if it were the only edition; right now, I'm waiting to get some information about special editions before making any decision), but I would not spend 2.5 times that amount ($150) for a version of the game that I know nothing about and likely just comes with extra trinkets that don't have an effect on the game, itself.

Well my money's on the CE depending on if it's worth it, but I'm sure it is. On the slim chance it's not worth it just the standard game, no way I could hold out for a GOTY edition.

Collector's Edition and then when the time comes GOTY edition as it will have all of the add ons cheaper than downloading. Depends on the quality of DLC.

Collector's Edition will come with a plush Dragon being stabbed by the Hero from the first gameplay trailer. :) Or just a plush dragon. Or a small statue of the guy holding a serpent down with his foot about to stab it in the face http://blog.fileplanet.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Skyrim-4.jpg. As long as it includes some sort of physical worthwhile prop/trinket or two I'd get whatever the most expensive version, depending on my finances at the time of purchase of course.

It's hard to say when we don't know what editions there'll be and what will be in them

Probably getting the Collectors Edition, so long as there is some nice booty in with it.

By the time the GotY edition comes out my disks will be worn out, so I'll probably be getting that too
