Effect Shaders On Weapons

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 10:11 pm

In Oblivion (TES:IV CS) this was pretty simple, any enchantment you could place on a weapon had an archetypal magic effect. Said magic effects had effect shaders which would be played on all appropriate objects. (Be that a weapon, armor or clothing)

I understand most of the in's and out's of building a weapon from scratch in the GECK and have already created my effect shader, the trouble is when I edit the Visual Effects Section of my Base Effect (Object display effect dropdown box) this appears to get lost in translation when I launch Fallout 3.
My understanding and knowledge of mod creation and installation is sound, having come from extensive experience with the TES:IV CS.
Just to clarify I want my weapon (a sword in this instance) to have my effectshader played on it when I wield it, 1st and 3rd person. Currently not getting anything.

Any and all help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Antares

Just found out that on the GECK wiki it lists the relevant effect shader options as being non-functional. Although thats quite the gem of information, it still does not provide a solution which is what I've come here to find.
