Perhaps, like the Kajit, there are different Argonian...breeds I guess. Some lay eggs while others don't. That or Ocheeva is a liar.

I doubt the first point, and I HIGHLY doubt the second, as the DB members, bar Lucian, loved you as their own siblings or child. She has zero reason to lie, it was also talked about by that dude you were supposed to kill as a side quest for another member.

Devs have been wrong about their own lore before.

Logic pretty much shows they dont lay eggs.

At first lore stated that the Hist were actually a race of Argonian, then a contradicting lore account said that they came from the Hist. So arguably, Argonians came from trees. Its one way of thinking, plus I dont know of any reptiles that have mammary glands.

Edit: There's lots of contradicting and not a lot of lore about Argonians, but if you factor in living environment, lore and physical attributes, they dont come off as very Reptilian. Why would an Argonian have mammary glands, how could they survive in a place like Skyrim? Lots of question that make argonians seem very different from a typical Reptile.

I also think the Hist act as a dreamsleeve for the Argonians. It seems obvious when I read the novel.

The hist helps them adapt and evolve as well, I mean they are called The People of the Root after all.

So what I'm seeing from posts by people designing the series is that sometimes Argonians lay eggs and sometimes they don't, dependent on morphology and climate and various other factors. Remember, too, that multiple Argonians in multiple titles have made reference to eggs and hatching, and that some Argonians do not have briasts, and that the variations in their body types may very well exceed that of the Khajiit.

Also, Argonians are not reptiles. They have qualities of mammals and fish as well, and their relationship with the Hist is such that some may very well have other features. I wouldn't be surprised to find feathered Argonians somewhere in the Black Marsh.
