Egglike things : Fallout 3

Has anyone noticed the ubiquitous clusters of egg looking spheres scattered around the Wasteland? And no, I'm not talking about Mirelurk egg clusters, although they do bear somewhat of a resemblance....they seem to be the eggs of some unknown creature...any thoughts??

I think I know what you're talking about. There's a cluster of them underneath the entrance tower into Rivet City, near the stairs. They are directly underneath a pipe which is pouring water on them. (At least, I think it's water, it could be some kind of exhaust). I have no idea what they are. Some kind of growth? I don't think they're ant eggs, though. There are no ants around there.

Yep...those are the things I'm talking about...actually Ant eggs are a possibility although there's nothing that would actually prove it....I dont like touching those things...they skeeve me out

I think it's just some sort of calcium or mineral deposit due to the water runoff evaporating and leaving behind the minerals.

It's fungus. A cluster of growing fungus, the reason it's large is because of the radiation. That's why you find them near water.

Wasteland Fungus Brain.

That's what they are called by Bethesda in the GECK. They are fungus. They are meant to look like brains.

Maybe they are "cut content", but there is no chance that they are calcium/lime deposits.

Sheesh...I thought I had alot of caps...I'm up to about 80k....and no, I dont want any of your caps to eat those things...they look disgusting, although perhaps not as disgusting as drinking out of a toilet.... :slap:

There is a naturally-occurring, unmutated type of fungus that looks like brain. It's called a morel. Delicious. Morel, that is, not brain. They get quite large, I understand, but are relatively rare in the wild; the proliferation of bark-chipping dressing for flowerbeds and driveways has led to a rise in their frequency in suburbia, though since the spores are in the mulch and are offered better germination conditions.

and since when has Moira been an authority on anything??? ie....."oh just go and pick up a few things at the SuperDuper Mart".....no biggie...."oh just go and pick up a few mines in that Minefield place" riiiight.....nevermind that sniper who explodes all those cars while you're trying to pick up those mines......
