Eldanorcara Redux?

:)

Anyways, any luck on finding those in game models? I'm pretty sure I might have one or two of the early ones...

Nah, I'm still at work. I don't think any of the earlier ones were positioned. Most of these were. I'm sure I still have them. I just have to go through about 4000 models to find the correct versions. Sometimes redundant copies are not really a good thing.

Here is the first works on the textures for the shop entrance....

Let me know what you guys think and which you prefer.

I personally like it with the moss considering this is set in a tree I think it looks more fitting. However I am not sure if that is what the intended feel is. :S

I have the second floor (or 1st depending where your from) pretty much mapped and nearly ready to texture as well.....

Somebody's been staying up late. And I agree with you. Moss is nice. Gives it a "I've been here a long damn time" look. If anything, I'd say add more moss. To it and the tree, when you get to it. Did I say "Way cool" yet? If not, "Way cool!"

I think my tastes have changed since we did the original Eldanorcara in white marble and gold. Of course, it could have been lingering effects from those Lord of the Rings movies when I did them. Everybody viewed elves as "pristine beings of grace and light", or some such rubbish. I now tend to go back to my original, elves are very earthy, nature-bound views. And to be honest, I don't think the original white and gold motif would look as good in this situation. But hey, I'm biased. I'm the one who told you "stone and tudor". :biglaugh:

No, not that big of a deal. It just sounded like you were hesitant about its use. I kind of had this whole ivy-covering-part-of-the-stone concept rolling around in my head. My wife's hometown has some really neat college buildings where it has grown up the sides over the decades and looks pretty cool. Moss works just as well. Just the fact that its getting textured at all is a good thing. Baby steps, right?

I am glad you guys are liking this. Is a good bit of work for it to svck. :D

Anyway here is the next building textured and set in the tree close to how Skinjack had it in his screens.

Only 3 more buildings to go and then try to map this gnarley (sp?) tree. :S

Cooool! Looks like someone's been busy. Thought you were taking a break? I guess I owe you some designs for the icons now that you're ahead of me again.

Sadly, this seems to be going the same way as the original WIP.

Take it easy on that negative thought, there. I'm working on some weapon textures. I may be slow like grandpa, but it will be a good thing. I've been quite busy with RL.

Things are going..... just slowly. :)

I have most of the shops textured and the tree is partially mapped. I just been working on my metal project for the most part. :D

Zing!

^.^

Faith is something I've come to not expect, lol.

Things go, understandably school and non-summer month activities take their toll, especially in the beginning. Regardless, work is being done to complete the project, not just add on to it ;)

Yeah. And Skinjack is learning how to walk again now that his cast is off his foot (after 7 months). That's kinda where my head has been at for the last two weeks. Fused bones in the foot are not a fun thing. I actually took a few steps yesterday without my crutches. Don't want to rush things though. I'm kind of enjoying the wife and daughter waiting on me hand and ... foot. Heh.
On the plus side, I have been playing around with 3dMax some, so maybe any future models won't cause people like Dragon_Lance and AOF to tear their hair out while trying to texture them. Be a shame to see AOF with a big bald spot in the middle of those rasta dreads. :biglaugh:

Oooh, Skinjack's playing with Max.

Kinda disappointed in the poly count though. Can't even break 1000. Now all I need to do is figure out that uvmapping/texturing thing.
