True thats why I rerolled to assassin or I would keep doing the same xD

Now I have to try backstabbing the dragon not an easy job tbh.

Shields weight heavily into my Anti-Dragon tactics.

While the dragon is flying around a good place to hide is generally useful, especially when dealing with an Elder or Ancient. If not make sure you have the Block perk to reduce Elemental damage while blocking because you are going to need it. If you think you can get away with it without getting toasted try picking at it with Arrows, situation dictates this.

Once it is on the ground initiate combat with the Marked for Death shout and then shield bash the dragon. Assuming you are good enough at block this will stun the dragon, and give you time to start chopping it to pieces. You will need to keep bashing it as it recovers and again turns its attention to you. Potions are essential to survival still, if it gets at hit in it can take a massive portion of your health. An Elder managed to pull off a cinematic kill on my while I was at roughly 60% health, and I put most of my levels into health, so watch out.

Your shout should recover before the fight is over, so use your choice of Unrelenting Force to help stun the Dragon or Whirlwind Sprint to close the distance when it lands. I've never seen Marked for Death wear off before the end of a fight, so you shouldn't need to use it again.

I have Lydia armored in upgraded full Ebony armor and an upgraded glass bow. I'm in upgraded glass armor and sword/shield.

I get it's attention and use the shield perk to block most of it's breath attack. Lydia stays away from me and damages it with the bow.

When if finally lands somewhere I rush in (using a shout if I need to) and wail on it with my sword, shouting to weaken it's defences.

If it flies up again I just repeat the process.

Shoot fire or ice at it, heal myself if I get hit by the breath and repeat. And run if it comes into melee range while dragonhide is not active. So far it's the same as any other dragon, but it needs more hits to be taken down.
