Yep I am only just doin the main quest for the first time

Anyway with the elder knowledge I have gone to urag-gro-shug and he doesn't have the conversation choice for the books on elder scrolls. So I'm guessing I hit a bug..

What can I do??
I started the quest a few months ago so I don't recall what I have to do with the books anyway which doesn't help. I read that the books are at SS outpost and they will give you a quest, so I went there but they didn't erm

Your best bet is to just go to Septimus Signus' home directly instead of confronting Urag. I've had the same problem before.

Ok well I picked up the books and nothin happens?? No speech options with SS... Probably a good time for me to say that long long before I even went near the main quest I found SS outpost, and talked to the guy, just exploring... Then he gave me the lexicon and the atunement sphere or w.e. I still have no idea what they are.

Have I broken it? T_T

Oh, is the following quest 'discerning the transmundane' ??

discerning the transmundane is a daedric quest given to you by the person in the SS outpost, but it also serves some purpose for the main quest as it gives you access to the area that contains the Elder Scroll you seek.discerning the transmundane itself however is not part of the main quest

Just head directly to Blackreach and after you get the scroll then everything will be fine.

Ironically the same exact thing happened to me because I spoke to Septimus Signus before receiving the quest Elder Knowledge.
