[Spoilers] Elder McNamara?

Post » Fri Nov 26, 2010 6:16 pm

I really want the BoS to be around after I finish the questline (reload my save, that is), and after reading that the conflict between the BoS and the NCR can't end without a fight if I oust Elder McNamara and help Hardin during the quest Still in the Dark. Does that mean that the BoS will no longer be after the fight with the NCR? Or will the BoS "win"?

BTW, I'm planning on killing Mr House and take control of the Strip myself. I don't know if it's relevant, though. Also, this is my first playthrough, so would you please be careful about spoiling anything unnecessary after the point where you speak to Yes Man?

Thanks in advance,
- TBD

You can create a treaty with the BoS and the NCR if you side with the NCR. Apart from that, you cannot end the hostilies between NCR and Brotherhood

Well, you CAN avoid killing the BoS by siding with Yes Man, but he makes a grump about it, and Hardin will never allow treaty with the BoS and the NCR. If you want to control The Strip, too. Side with NCR up to the point where you convince McNamara to side with NCR. THEN align with Yes Man and control The Strip. Easy peasy.

So I should just continue the questline (with McNamara as Elder) up to the point where I convince McNamara to side with the NCR, and then control the Strip? Sounds easy. Thanks. Though one more question: Is it during the MQ or the BoS questline you convince McNamara to side with the NCR?

Mhm, just convince McNamara during 'For the Republic Pt2' to ally with the NCR during the Battle for Hoover Dam. Then after you settle that, you can work with Yes Man and take over Vegas, like I said in another thread. It's all about how you play your cards. :foodndrink:

Thanks, mate. It's pretty complicated, I think; "if I do that, will I be unable to do that?". But I guess that's one of the things that make New Vegas so great: player choice.

Again, thanks. You've been a big help.

Well all I can say is what the others have said before.
If you side with the NCR you can get a treaty with them between the NCR and BoS which ends the hostility.
Thats the only way I think. :P
