Elder Scroll, Magic Revolution

I recently thought of an idea of an event that happens several centuries from Skyrim, into a slightly more modernized time. Here is my tale.

Several centuries have past since the events of Skyrim. the dragons have been slain, and the civil war has been done. The dragonborn has long died, and the fifth era has passed. However, several events happened near the end of the 5th era. for instance, the Thalmor have (unintentionally) destroyed Solitude. The tragic accident led to a revolution begun by an extremist anti-magic group. Although the organization has existed as early as the second era, they were an incredibly small organization, and were considered a cult more than anything. However, in more recent times, the party has gained much more popularity, and in the recent years, has exploded into one of the largest political forces in Tamriel, neighboring the Stormcloaks and Imperial Legion.
To think of a revoltion against all magic users before was suicidal, but Tamriel ahs undergone something it has never seen before, it has seen an Industrial Revolution. Thanks to the efforts of studying dwarvern technology, many new technological feats have been accomplished. Several, whcih the new Party used against the mages of Tamriel. new technology such as lightning snares helped against combating the mages. The snares were thrown as mages and they would tangle around the target's arms, making it impossible for him/her to cast spells. Not only that, they would then discharge many volts of electricity, in a similiar fashion to the dwarven Spider Guardians, not only frying the mage, but nearly depleting the magicka of said victim. Crossbows have also been improved, and cannons were being developed, scrapping the old catapults. Guns were developed, but were hardly, if at all, used. Guns were infamous for exploding in the user's hand, and their accuracy was atrocious. The only time guns were used, were for either ceremonial events, used by the rich of the gentry, or to start the annual Tamriel Horse race.
It takes a lot more than new weapons to take out every mage however, it also takes an organized army. Quickly after the events of the destruction of Solitude, much anti-magic as well as hatred toward elves (in particular the altmer) rised. As such, the party has exploded in popularity. The party was in need of troops, and was willing the recruit anyone. Many members included former guards, peasants, and even bandits. The Party made an attempt to recruit bandits by creating new laws in which if bandist turned against their leaders and magic using allies, they would not only have their records cleared, but they will also be offered to join the army. They also made a law which further encouraged bandits to give up their former lives and join by creating a law in which if you hunt a mage and bring him back alive ord ead, anything you find off the body or in their home is for the hunter to keep. Bandits quickly joined the ranks. However, the military was not full of unorganized, lawless bandits. Instead, the military training was strict, ruthless, and demanded respect and complete obedience. Some recruits never even make it through the training alive.
Another weapon they took advantage of is propaganda, turning against magic users and making the people not only fear, but hate magic. the majority of the party were nords, second to that orcs and imperials, but strangely enough wood elves and dark elves also joined the revolution. The revolution quickly spreaded from Skyrim to almost all of Tamriel.
Due to the efforts of the party, almost all of the High elves were hunt to extinction. magic users were rare and went into hiding, and all colleges that taught magic were completely destroyed. Other species, like the falmer, went extinct. Because the falmer were secluded from the rest of the war, they eventually fell behind and the were quickly destroyed by the new, modernized technologies, especially better bombs and the creation of cannons. Many of the caves that the falmer dwelled in were caved in, with it's inhabitants still inside. The aftermath of the war however, did not lead to a free, magic-cleansed Tamriel, but rather a fascist, tolitarianist government ruling over Tamriel. The people are watched over by a spies from the military at all times. These spies would disguise as the common rabble, and if it was even rumored that someone was a mage, they would vanish at night from their homes. What happens to these people are still not known.
