Elder Scroll used in more than one quest?

Post » Mon Oct 07, 2013 11:04 pm

Did not finish the main quest line for dragon born. Barely started it. Like, I'm at the part where you climb up a hundred stairs to talk to grey beards. Way later many quests yet to come I am suppose to get an elder scroll for someone and eventually sell it to the College Librarian (grumpy orc dude).

But ... but ... but ... I downloaded Dawnguard and they need that same Elder Scroll which the Dawnguard expansion has renamed the Dragon Elder Scroll. What should I do? If I turn the Dragon Elder Scroll (assuming I can find it and I think I can) in to the Dawnguard will they give it back so I can use it in other quests?

Sry if it seems like I'm spamming the forums with questions. Noticed less and less people are trying to answer - don't know if I've offended or if I'm coming up with questions to fast. I think I'm posting in the right section.

You don't need the Elder Scroll (Dragon) for anything besides the DG quest and the MQ. After that, you can sell it to Urag at the College for 6000 Septims. If you sold it to him before you completed one of the questlines, you can get it back from him. No Elder Scrolls are needed for Dragonborn.

Thx. From the super short answer (which I appreciate) I will glean you mean I can do whatever I want without penalty. Sell it to Urag if I want or do the Vampire Quest Line or the Main Dragon Born Quest Line or Septimus Sigmus' Quest which all use the same scroll !!!!!! Silly of me to think Bethsada might make a mistake and glitch my game. Note I am not being sarcastic toward you. Just a little tense now because I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M SUPPOSE TO DO WITH THE *%$* SCROLL !

*sigh*

I have not used it in ANY quest. I'm standing next to the big ball where it's stored right now. I want to do the Vampire Quest Line first and still have a scroll left over to do everything else. I don't care if it is stuck in my inventory forever. I assume it does not weigh much.

It won't weigh much because it'll always count as a quest item, so it'll weigh nothing. :D

You will "use" them in the MQ and DG questlines, but you will get them back in both. IF you had happened to have sold it before either of the questlines, you could buy it back ( which would svck, but it's do able). I actually had sold it after the MQ, on one of my characters, because I didn't have DG yet so didn't know I would need it. I bought it back with no problems, well except getting the gold to do it. lol.
