I have just downloaded Arena and started to play it. It brings back some memories :)

I never finished it before, going to try this time though :)

Just remember, it's safer to rest on raised areas.

Ah, good call.

I did not realise in the first dungeon, when you have just escaped from the cell you can squeeze into the little niches to rest.

That makes things easier.

I have played it 2 months ago, till I was about to enter Halls fo Collossos, then I just decided to repair all my artifacts, all my magic items anr armour and stock on potions.

I believe my Redguard Assassin reached level 16-17 (oh man, all those sweet critical strikes....). I just saved the entire game in a pen-drive exactly for nostalgia, u know, when I believe I wanna go on.

I just want to know - is it only me who takes 5 hours to walk across the town? Seriously, I'm finding it unplayable.

No! - sth is wrong. It is actually TOO fast for me.

I am on Windows 7... Did this happen in your initial dungeon as well? IIRC, messing with the 'detail' slide has some effect, and there really is not much detail you need in Arena.... try placing it a bit to the left....

What sys r u on (Windows 7, vista...)?

EDIT: Oh, maybe ur character got a disease that drains Speed? Check ur character sheet to see how ur Speed is. You can also press S I guess to see if you are healthy or not....

Just a tip, if you press the "+" or "-" sign you can speed the game up or slow it down..depending on how may cycles are alotted to Dosbox you can fine tune it. If it's running too slow in dosbox (and "+" doesn't help) hit "Ctrl+F12" to increase the cycles. "Ctrl-F12 reduces the cycles.

Hope that helps.
