Whenever a member of the legion or a member of my guild falls in battle, i put his sword and shield on his chest and push him down a river. (preferably a waterfall)

Yeah, I've also never activated one of those stones. I clicked on one once and I think it offered bound weapons and armor, which didn't interest me. Now that I think of it I've never used an Ayleid Well either.

I have you beat on the character levels, but just slightly. In Oblivion I think the highest I've ever gotten a character is 18 or 19, I forget which. Which is odd, since I easily get characters into the 40's and 50's in Morrowind and Skyrim.

I don't know how Morrowind does it, but seeing those glass-wearing bandits start showing up everywhere after a particular game level, when last week there were literally none, was completely game-breaking for me in my early Oblivion days.

Some of my characters have used Ayleid wells. :) They're just too convenient, especially for magic users.

I think I logged more hours into Morrowind than school.

Well, i hope that you've learned something from it at least

Morrowind didn't level NPCs' stats at all, and equipment only in a very minimal way (and most often, not at all). Except for guards, there were no generic NPCs. The bandits in the first cave near Seyda Neen would have the same unique names, the same stats and the same equipment, regardless of whether you entered the cave at level 1 or level 57.
What was leveled, was loot (from chests and the like) and creatures, to a certain extent. But again, only creature types (i.e. Daedric ruins would contain Scamps in the beginning, Atronachs and Clannfear in between, and Dremora Lords and Golden Saints in the end), not their stats. And even then, leveling hit the roof at about level 25.

I don't know how Morrowind does it
Morrowind was leveled, but not scaled.

These terms are usually used incorrectly. Here are the four components of Oblivion and Skyrim's leveling/scaling mechanic:

Loot Leveling - controls when loot appears
Enemy Leveling - controls when enemies appear
Loot Scaling - controls the strength of loot once it has appeared
Enemy Scaling - controls the strength of enemies once they have appeared

Morrowind's enemies were leveled but not scaled. Nix-Hounds appear around character level 5 and are always level 7 creature no matter when they are encountered. Golden Saints appear around level 20 and will always be a level 20 creature.

The same is true of loot. It is leveled, but not scaled. It appears much as it does in Oblivion and Skyrim but any stats it possesses are fixed. There is no need to wait until a higher level to do a quest in order to get a better version of an item in Morrowind.

  • I've never finished Oblivion's MQ
  • I've never started Bloodmoon and Shivering Isles
  • I've never been a werewolf
  • I've never played a sword&board warrior
  • My first character in Morrowind was a Bosmer thief and since then I start every new game with a Bosmer archer
  • I still run around jumping, even though Acrobatics is gone
  • I've never enchanted an item or crafted a spell
  • It literally took me months to find Morag Tong hideout, because I didn't use any guides or internet and I never felt like lurking in that basemant
  • I don't like dragons. Everybody was so hyped with "I'm the ultimate dragon slayer", "foul beasts" and EPIC BATTLES!!!!!! And I just don't like dragons in any fantasy setting, they're boring and over-used. As much as I love them in TES lore, I never wanted to see them in the game.
  • I've never used "wait" to speed up time so that the vendors would restock. I just leave, go on another adventure and then come back.

- Oblivion was my first TES, it was the PS3 version.
- I played Fallout 3 before I played Oblivion.
- I've only finished Oblivion's main quest once.
- I can't stand melee characters in Oblivion or Skyrim, but I like them in all the other games.
- The highest level I've ever reached in any of the games was a Level 54 Breton Mage in Oblivion, second highest was a level 35 Nord warrior in Morrowind.
- I've never seriously played a werewolf or vampire in any of the games. (I save first, see what it's like, I don't like it, so I reload my save.)
- The College of Winterhold is the only major questline I've competed in Skyrim.
- I've never played the Thieves Guild or Imperial Cult questlines in Morrowind.
- I've never played a Khajiit.

Playing hours:
Arena: Not very much
Daggerfall: 15- 20?
Morrowind: A lot.
Oblivion: A lot.
Skyrim: 319 hours, according to Steam.

I've never played a beastperson in Morrowind. Their stiff legged walk annoys me no end.
I've never used enchanting or spellmaking in Morrowind, despite abusing the hell out of it in Oblivion.
I've never completed the Fighters guild, Hllalu or Redoran questlines in Morrowind.
I've never completed the Daggerfall main quest.

I didn't like the Bloodmoon quests. I actually think the Tribunal questline is the best in the series, and psycho[censored] Almalexia acting as Nerevar's semi-murderous jilted lover is most amusing.

I enjoyed the Imperial Legion quests in Morrowind, even though it had been written by Todd Howard so I was determined to hate it.

I actually prefer Daggerfall's levelling system, and it's combat. People say that Morrowind's combat was immersive and rpg-like, but come on, it was awful! A game made in 1996 did it better!

One of my best characters in Morrowind was a blind Redguard potter walking with a stick. When he visited the mainland he had to take a huge pack of crab meat with him, because TR didn't have support for NOM.

I've never played a male redguard in Oblivion. Their magenta skin and green lips makes me laugh too much to get through chargen.

Oblivion (estimated 300-500 hours played):
Never completed the main quest without cheats (basically did a speed run of it using the console, and didn't think it was that great)
Never completed Shivering Isles, I only just got into the main city/palace part
The dungeons and zombies always scared the crap out of me, and I would always be on the edge of my seat when sneaking through dungeons

Morrowind (estimated 400-600 hours played):
I've never completed any of the great house, morag tong, mages guild or imperial cult questlines
Never played a vampire
I've only done 1 or 2 deadric shrine quests
I've never played as a pure mage

Arena:
Took me several uninstalls and installs (due to failure that resulted in uninterest) and many many hours until I finally got out of the intro dungeon and into the first city
I got past the smaller dungeon, and then the bigger one holding the first piece of the staff, and after further reading found out that the rest of the game was pretty much this same pattern for 8 more pieces I never bothered to complete it. Haven't played it since.

Elder Scrolls in general:
I have a bad habit of creating too many characters and back stories that I don't end up doing anything with
I spend too much time looking for mods, and when I have a fully modded game I don't end up playing it. Most of the time spent playing these games was without mods.

I started playing Morrowind again as of two days ago. It's the very same disc that I bought in 2002. I've never played the GOTY edition or any expansions. No mods, because I play on the Xbox.

I. Can't. Put. It. Down.

I have never played as a Werewolf.

I have never played the Thieves Guild questline in Morrowind. I have never completed the Imperial Legion and the Great Houses questlines.

I have never played as a Vampire other than in Oblivion, and that only for a few days (around 12 in-game days). Became a vampire during the MQ when Martin sent me to a Daedric Shrine. Since my character was low-level, I chose Azura's.

I have never played a race other than Dunmer and Breton. My Altmer Oblivion character was short-lived....so he doesn't count.

I've started Oblivion Main Quest like 5 times, completed it only once. I kept losing my savegames.

Morrowind is my favorite game ever, and I loved Tribunal but have never enjoyed Bloodmoon as much.

Never played Daggerfall, Arena or Redguard. Never played the spin-offs.

My computer was once too slow for Morrowind, so the game stuttered a lot, yet I played it anyway to the point I would skip class. =)
